What does your night sky look like? The <Nebra Sky Disk> is the Memory of the World inscribed in 2013 by Germany. This bronze disk, about 30 centimeters long, shows the sun, moon, and stars. Through this Memory of the World, we can see that ancient people observed the sky and understood the concepts of summer solstice, winter solstice, and leap month, which we still use today. There is an artwork inspired by this <Nebra Sky Disk>. It is “Northern Lights” by artist Cho Min-sang. This artwork embodies the night sky seen by ancient people in a modern way. When appreciating this work, please do not stand still; instead, walk in front of it. Like our night sky, you can find light that appears differently depending on where you stand and at what angle. The exhibition is anchored by three series: "The Valley of the Shadow of Death," "Mind Power," and "Levitating," each illustrating the artist's journey through personal and universal struggles towards enlightenment and ascension. There's only ONE WEEK LEFT of CuriOdyssey's springtime exhibition, Puzzling Perceptions! Make sure to visit and bring your senses to life with exhibits like Sound Tubes, where you can make music!🎶 How do Sound Tubes work? Tapping the paddle on the end of these tubes sends a small burst of air pressure through the tube. The sudden burst of air pressure generates sound waves inside the tube. Long tubes create large sound waves with lower tones. Short tubes create smaller sound waves with higher tones. A pipe organ works similarly by sending pressurized air through different-length pipes. How to experiment: Tap the tubes with the attached paddles. Do the tubes make different sounds? Which tubes create higher tones? Which tubes create lower tones? Puzzling Perceptions will be open now until April 28, 2024!
