Disney’s stock price is at a nine year low. Some feel Disney has lost its connection with the critical core audience of millennials who seek their content and entertainment elsewhere. They think Disney will have no choice but to sell to Apple or Google or Amazon. I think Disney will overcome their current challenges. They have the best collection of IP and brand recognition like no other company. What do you think - they get acquired or regain their kingdom? #disney #content #brandedentertainment #baretreemedia

I think and hope Disney will come to its senses and sell off ESPN, ABC and Disney+ to others who can manage their growth and content better, then focus — much like Sony Pictures — on CREATING amazing content to sell to others. There is zero need to own the "pipeline" anymore. For longtime Disney watchers, Disney lost a lot of its luster as far back as 1995, when the Cap Cities-ABC acquisition made the company lose focus. This was exacerbated by the Fox acquisition. Trying to manage all these various components while trying to be great at making excellent movies and TV shows just isn't possible. The eye is on too many balls. But Disney could unlock the ENORMOUS financial potential of its core Disney brands (Disney Studios, Disney Parks, and all the secondary brands like Animal Kingdom, EPCOT and Disneyland) while once again becoming world class at guest service, guest satisfaction and hospitality — not to mention film, TV and digital production — without worrying about problems like the Charter issue or finding an ESPN partner. By "spinning off" Disney into two entities, then selling the one that contains the streaming services and networks, it could recapture a lot of its very, very faded luster.
