Is this better than a 5 star review? We think so! Last year Introducing Events was approached to design and deliver a team building experience that over 300 global colleagues could take part in, bringing everyone together as one and working towards the same goal. 'The Big Picture' did just that. We designed a bespoke artwork around values, products and company identity and delegates worked in small groups creating bespoke 'abstract' artworks. Once complete we sent everyone for lunch and put all the canvasses together and covered the masterpiece with a giant curtain. When we revealed their combined efforts, there were gasps, hugs & amazement! (followed by huge smiles and much applause) But, as the video shows, this isn't where the story ends. Now the completed masterpiece hangs proudly in Ferrero HQ as a huge reminder that the impact of sharing knowledge, helping each other and the combined efforts of all the talented individuals together can have. A reminder to not only think about your own work, but how your work will fit together with others to create the bigger picture. If we took any canvas away, the Ferrero picture would simply not be the same. Everyone's contribution makes a difference. Success is not a moment in time, it’s a journey. And it requires sustained energy and motivation. So in recent weeks, our team has been exploring how we achieve both high and ‘optimal’ performance - considering not just occasional peaks but also sustained excellence. While all of us naturally cannot be at our best 100% of the time, each of us has the capacity to attain optimal performance. This approach puts a greater focus on personal well-being and periods of recovery – the secret to thriving CONSISTENTLY in the face of life’s challenges. We recently completed a dipstick check-in with our Europe People and Culture team at The Coca-Cola Company - and while we recognize the great results we achieved, we see a lot of opportunities to support everyone to achieve optimal performance. The Power Of Resilience! Just over a month ago, we closed arguably the best fiscal year in the history of Pernod Ricard Kenya. This was defined by the amazing results delivered by the team, growing ~20% volume and ~60% value in an incredibly turbulent period, delivering disproportionate premiumization, profitable business continuity and sustainability. In a year the region (and country) went through very defining organizational changes for a quarter, a new team ‘storming, forming and norming’ for another quarter, the resilience shown by the team has been simply commendable. Some key highlights of the year include: 1. Achieving market leadership in Cognac with Martell. 2. Reinforcing Jameson by almost doubling Jameson Black Barrel Volume and Value. 3. Acceleration in luxury and prestige with significant value growth with The Glenlivet. 4. Reestablishng Belaire as the go to bubbly for the nightlife and flex moments, etc. As we continue our journey to market leadership, by outgrowing our peers/competitors, we are committed to leveraging arguably the best portfolio in the industry to provide our consumers the best products supported by the experiences. We are building the best team in the industry, one that ensures everyone grows, everyone learns and everyone is rewarded. And, yes, this team will also ensure our company remains reputable and credible in Kenya, with all our partners and stakeholders. As we approach the weekend, I would like to shine a spotlight on the paramount importance of collaboration in the world of FMCG. As consumer preferences evolve and market dynamics shift, brands should recognise the value of partnering with one another to leverage their unique strengths, expand their reach, and create mutually beneficial opportunities. Collaboration as such offers an exciting opportunity for brands to harness collective expertise and resources to drive innovation. One compelling example of this is the collaboration between Nestlé and Starbucks. Through their partnership, Nestlé gained access to Starbucks' renowned coffee expertise, enabling them to co-develop a range of premium coffee products for global distribution. ✨Five years at Campari America!✨ When I saw this job description back in 2018 posted by a few people I used to work with who had since moved on to Campari, I knew it was my dream job. It’s unusual to find a role that has unlikely combinations of everything you want, and even more unusual to be able to morph it each year based on our growing needs - curating the hospitality experience within our office and running the bar & Academy spaces, while being heavily involved in building brands and their strategies (for the whole portfolio and for our innovation pipeline), and working with the field to meet their needs for accounts and customers through education and Academy. That’s morphed into so much more than what it was five years ago, and I almost can’t believe there was a time when I did almost everything myself - including washing all the glasses. I’ve woven the Academy into the fabric of so much of what our organization does at a local and global scale, and it’s taught me so much about business and myself in the process. It has become the most cross-functional and broadly demanding role I’ve ever had - which has shifted what “I” do into what “we” do in a profound way. From just over 300 attendees in our early days in 2019 to a staggering 7,000 in 2023, the journey has been remarkable (and that’s only the people through the doors of our HQ!). Every year since our modest beginnings, and navigating through the challenges of COVID, has shaped us. That would be a lot of glasses to wash if I were still doing it all alone! Huge thanks to my team, those that feed into our work streams, and the agencies - their support is how this is all possible (and why I’m still standing). The old saying, 'go fast, go alone; go far, go together', has never been more appropriate. Now, I'm excited to focus not just on creating new things but on optimizing what we already have. Shocking that I would be so pragmatic, I know! Building the plane as we’ve been flying it since 2019 has been an exhilarating challenge, but now it's time to refine our course. Here's to the next chapter! ✨

Our recent Nestlé All Hands event was a unique opportunity to come together as one team and celebrate our beloved brands. One of the reasons why I am constantly inspired by our organization, is that the work and positive impact we make truly is global – all thanks to our teams from around the world. Listening and chatting with our colleagues really has me fired up as we see out our final quarter of the year.   Here are a few takeaways I’m reflecting on: ➖ Laurent Freixe's Vision: Our new CEO's passion for innovation and delivering value is infectious and lays a clear path for us all to further invest in our iconic brands. Being part of a company with such a strong purpose is inspiring. ➖ Consumer First: We're doubling down on understanding our consumers and adapting our products to meet their unique needs. It's all about staying relevant and delivering value. ➖ Teamwork Makes the Dream Work: The event reinforced the importance of a collaborative culture where everyone feels heard and valued. Together, we're unstoppable. ➖ Brand Impact: Hearing about the positive impact of our brands on communities worldwide was truly heartwarming. It's a reminder of why we do what we do. ➖ Data-Driven Decisions: Our focus on data and operations is key to staying ahead of the curve. We're making smarter decisions and driving efficiency.   Overall, the All Hands event was a clear reminder that: We make Nestlé!
