I spent a few hours this week planning and booking a family holiday later this summer. We're heading to the south of France on the train via Lille. As you'd expect Paris has a lot more connections - including for sleeper trains - but we usually try to travel via Lille instead, as the Eurostar to TGV connections are more straightforward. And Lille - a perfectly matched twin city for Leeds - is a lovely city for a stopover. I have to be honest. Planning and booking a holiday by train tends to be a fair bit more complicated than booking a flight - and it'll often - but not always - be more expensive. Yet it can be a much more enjoyable experience - and obviously switching away from flights to train travel is one important thing many of us can do to reduce our environmental impacts. We occasionally fly - but have mostly got the train over the last ten years for holidays - and there's plenty we've learnt over that time. From June to August, our data shows that advance airline ticket sales into Orlando are up 6.6% in both domestic and international markets, ahead of 2023. We also have seen international air routes into #Orlando continue to grow. Through our research, we know that  international visitors stay longer, which means more support for local businesses and a greater economic impact on our destination. Here are some of the most recent international air routes announced coming into Orlando:    • 𝐃𝐞𝐥𝐭𝐚 𝐀𝐢𝐫 𝐋𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬 is offering seasonal flights between Orlando and London’s Heathrow.  • 𝐏𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐀𝐢𝐫𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬 added new flights from multiple Canadian cities like Toronto and Ottawa.  • 𝐕𝐢𝐯𝐚 𝐀𝐞𝐫𝐨𝐛𝐮𝐬 started new routes from Merida to Orlando and enhanced connections from Colombia.  • 𝐋𝐀𝐓𝐀𝐌 𝐀𝐢𝐫𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬 inaugurated flights from Santiago, Chile to Orlando in late June.  • 𝐅𝐥𝐚𝐢𝐫 𝐀𝐢𝐫𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬 announced its winter schedule expansion from key Canadian cities to Orlando beginning Oct. 29.  • 𝐈𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐭 𝐀𝐢𝐫𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬 launched direct flights between Orlando and Madrid.  • 𝐆𝐎𝐋 𝐀𝐢𝐫𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬 resumed its flights from Fortaleza, Brazil to Orlando. Jet2 adds more 2025 holiday capacity Jet2.com and Jet2holidays have boosted capacity to a range of destinations for 2025. Due to demand the brands are adding flight and package holiday capacity across Spain, Turkey, Greece and Croatia. There are more flights and package holidays to eight destinations, with more early and late summer season options. In total, more than 35,000 additional seats have gone on sale to Malaga, Costa de Almeria, Majorca, Dalaman, Lesvos, Skiathos, Split and Dubrovnik. They are available departing from nine UK airports including East Midlands, Glasgow, Leeds Bradford, Liverpool Manchester and London Stansted. It also includes from new base Liverpool John Lennon Airport. It will see the introduction of three weekly services to Malaga and Mallorca from Liverpool John Lennon. There will be an earlier start to the season for Dalaman flights from nine UK airports. “We are seeing lots of demand from customers and have responded by adding more flights and holidays,” said Steve Heapy, CEO of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays.
