♻️ Environmental degradation is one of the existential threats to Europe and the world in a whole. To overcome this challenge, the European Green Deal sets the foundation for transforming the European Union into a modern, resource efficient and competitive economy, with preservation of the environment for future generations as a guiding line. The project RECIRCLE – ImpRovEment of the capacities of waste management system for implementing CIRCular economy principLEs stand on its pillars.   ‼️ The project will tackle the common challenge the cross-border area of Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro of implementing the circular and resource efficient economy principles into the waste management systems. The aim is to empower local stakeholder in preserving and maintaining the quality of natural environment. 🎯 The main objective is enhancing the capacities of waste management systems by jointly implementing principles of circular and resource efficient economy, with an emphasis on separate waste collection and its recycling and recovery.   EXPECTED PROJECT OUTPUTS: ✔️ Pilot action: Improved separate waste collection in the City of Zadar, City of Bihać, Municipality of Zeta, and Municipality of Vitez Pilot ✔️ Procurement of waste removal trucks, above-ground, semi-underground and underground waste containers and recyclomats ✔️ Educational workshops for children ✔️ Resource efficiency workshops for public sector ✔️ Study trip ✔️  Interregional promotional campaign ✔️ Circular economy digital knowledge platform for efficient waste management   🟢 European Territorial Cooperation Programme: Interreg VI-A IPA Programme Croatia – Bosnia and Herzegovina – Montenegro 2021 – 2027   📅 Start date: 1st June 2024 📅 End date: 30th November 2026   🤝 Lead partner: Čistoća Ltd. The Transpennine Route Upgrade (TRU) has released its first Sustainable Development Report, highlighting significant achievements in sustainability from April 2019 to March 2024.
