Computational design enthusiast | BIM Automation | Revit | Dynamo | Python | ACC | Autodesk Civil 3d | Navisworks
😃 Excited to share a simple yet powerful tool I've developed using PyRevit & Dynamo, This tool systematically sets car park numbers in order. Data-shapes package made the development process smooth and efficient. PyRevit is truly a game-changer in enhancing Revit workflows. 😃 Check out the video I posted to see it in action!

In order to appeased the algorithms of this platform, you need to post once per week. As we are building toward something big we don't have a whole lot to share that is worth your time. But when we release our new features we would like some exposure. Therefor I am showcasing something else that I have been working on in the past: How to create searchsets with dynamo for an automate Navisworks planning creation.

NAVISWORKS and Dynamo 👷♂️🏗 Moving my baby steps playing by accessing NAVISWORKS files from within Revit Dynamo. In a couple of hours I managed to have a quick inspection of a NW file, getting all clash detections, their results and displaying them in geometry preview with a simple graph. 😎🎉 Huge kudos to the developers of the Dynaworks package 🙏 Please take a look at the attached video. ...someone may like this... 😉 #revit #dynamo #navisworks

NET Core have the class AssemblyLoadContext that could be used to create your own scope to load any assembly that you want without worrying about conflict with another assembly already loaded in the main AppDomain. This would probably fix the assembly hell when loading plugins inside Revit, not sure if have some downside to do that. Looks promising, and maybe should be the default way Revit loads addins inside Revit, each addin with his own AssemblyLoadContext. I manage to make RevitLookup to run in a different context with an assembly that I know that have some conflict. GitHub Issue with the conflict: https://lnkd.in/dUe9xB83 This is just an experiment with the AssemblyLoadContext and RevitLookup 2025. #Revit #RevitAPI #Autodesk

This approach would fix the Dll Hell inside #Revit. Maybe #Autodesk team should implement AssemblyLoadContext in the next Revit version.

0BIM 1 progress - integrated the "show ifc props on selection" into the side panel; - pythonocc function to calculate volumes of the elements; - started playing with pandas for data analytics. Baby steps. In other news: Last week I got the chance, and honor, to talk to some fascinating people on Zoom from different parts of the world — the kind of people I admire and get inspiration from. Top 3 insides I got from them: 1. Build more, and show more mature results. Less often. 2. People buy services for automation design on platforms where they are used to work (so C# or pyRevit are way more popular than ifcOpenShell and BlenderBIM. Yet?). 3. Powerful tools for automation design are still very overlooked. Have a great week! See you next Monday. Maybe. Or join the discord channel. https://lnkd.in/dXh85xmn It already intimidates me. #LifeIsShort_Automate!

*Updates from Maple 🍁 📣 * Now, with Maple, you can write automated tests not only for Revit files but also for IFC! We understand how crucial it is to check quality of Industry Foundation Classes (IFC) files, especially given the frequent need to share and transfer building information between different modeling tools. That’s why we’ve extended the Maple library to streamline and enhance your IFC testing process. Below images show an example of a test case where all IFC Door's height parameter are tested using Maple. Let us know how this feature can improve your workflow for quality checks in Speckle.
