The European Championship 2024 is about to begin – what better time to share fun facts about different cultures and countries than now? ⚽ Germany and Scotland play the opening match – let’s start there: Both countries have a rich and varied history and share beautiful landscapes and a love of soccer. Of course they also have their own distinct festivals and traditions: Germany 🇩🇪: Oktoberfest: the world's largest folk festival takes place in Munich. It attracts millions of visitors who want to experience German culture, beer and traditional Bavarian dress such as lederhosen and dirndls. 🎡👗 Beer culture: Germany has a strong beer tradition with over 1,300 breweries and more than 5,000 different types of beer. In 2023, the average beer consumption in Germany was around 91.6 liters per capita. 🍻 Sunday rest: In Germany, it is forbidden by law to mow the lawn or hang the washing on Sundays. So, if you need a really quiet day, move to Germany! 😴 Scotland 🏴: Highland Games: These traditional events include competitions such as log throwing, hammer throwing and rope pulling. They are an important part of Scottish culture and take place annually all over the country. 🔨 Whisky: Scotland is famous for its whisky. There are over 120 active distilleries and the whisky trails in regions such as Speyside are very popular with tourists. 🥃 Kilts in everyday life: It is not uncommon for Scottish men to wear their kilts on formal occasions. And yes, the question of what is worn underneath remains a well-kept secret (at least to the rest of the world)! 🤫 We’re curious which cultural differences will be visible during the championship – how do you think each country will represent themselves through their team? 🌎⚽ #globalmobility #hrconsulting #championship #germany #scotland #culturehackers #culture

What 3-star-Michelin-restaurants and Luxembourg have in common. This all started by accident in 2008, with the interview of Ferran Adrià. I came back from Barcelona stunned! Discover why learning from these Chefs is highly beneficial in general, and especially in Luxembourg's current economic context. Read it here: ,https://lnkd.in/eEr5YGmE,

Roti-making is one of the must-haves of our workshops, both domestic and corporate. It is is the art and skill, (and somewhat the science and method), of how to make a circle of flattened dough fully puff and inflate. This not only defeats so many cooks keen on cooking traditional Indian food properly, but also our own 2nd & 3rd generations of Indian/South Asian, British born and bred community, who over the years have also tried to perfect this, via tutorial and YouTube videos, and constantly ended up with charred, blackened, dried up bread. As well as on our domestic ‘Indian Experience’ cookery workshop, we like to offer Roti-making to corporate workshops, because like all endeavours that are difficult, and require experience, practice, patience and perseverance, there is a great satisfaction in achieving the desired result… and of course we make sure this happens for all our attendees within the day! (We’ve not yet kept anyone behind, and not let them go home until success has been achieved, though it’s always possible ) As in business and life, achieving success in one thing in one day, does not mean mastery has been achieved. Like mastery, this is lifelong dedication, regular practice, playing the long game and pursuing excellence in a particular thing. But it’s a good start! Of course we are just talking about making Roti aren’t we!! Corporate workshops are held at our own venue in BA22 8PZ, right off the A303, with our own extensive onsite parking, and private venue hire to include your own team meetings and activities. Corporate workshops can be provided on weekdays from Tuesdays to Thursdays. Our corporate pdf brochure is available for more details about the venue and options for team-bonding days, and examples of the different dishes that suit teamwork and groups. Do get in touch for a pdf brochure to keep on hand for your company, when you are next planning a day out for your team. Dear colleagues, business partners and followers! This week Talent Plastics Tartu starts with the much awaited summer holiday. During the period of 15.07-04.08, the Tartu Talents: 1) explore emails such as hotel room bookings to Portugal, Malta or maybe even another city in Estonia; 2) receive packages from Amazon or local providers as during holidays Estonians usually think its the best time to start renovating the house; 3) produce grilled food more then one should in a short period of time per person. Scrap rate will be 0, nothing will remain without use and usually there is high precision operating at the grill; 4) discuss whether to go to the beach or hike this time around. Could be the toughest discussion of them all as the weather promises to be nice (fingers crossed!). Being outside is a non negotiable; 5) and many more fulfilling and important tasks. Suffice to say, there is much to do but we try to rest as well to come back and be ready to tackle the work related tasks as actively as the mentioned list above. We wish you all a great holiday and fun summer! We all need and deserve it :) #talentplastics #summerholidays

This week is F1 weekend, and while visiting Spago, I had the incredible opportunity to see Wolfgang Puck himself walking around the restaurant. Witnessing him in action was a powerful reminder of the networking mastery that has propelled his illustrious career. He was there attending exclusive events for some of the F1 teams hosted at his restaurants, exemplifying his strategic approach to building meaningful connections. Three Networking Ideas to Learn from Wolfgang Puck: 1. Build Authentic Relationships: Wolfgang Puck emphasizes genuine connections with everyone—from customers and employees to industry peers and celebrities. His personal engagement makes people feel valued, fostering relationships based on mutual respect. 2. Leverage High-Profile Opportunities: By aligning himself with prominent events like the F1 weekend and the Academy Awards, Puck enhances his visibility and expands his network. These high-profile opportunities connect him with influential figures across various industries. 3. Mentorship and Collaboration: Puck believes in the power of mentorship and collaboration. By mentoring upcoming chefs and collaborating on unique projects, he not only fosters growth but also extends his professional network. In his book "In Never Eat Alone", Keith Ferrazzi recommends becoming a regular at great restaurants as a strategic way to expand your network. By frequenting the same establishments, you build relationships with the staff, who may eventually introduce you to the owner. When you bring guests and host events at the restaurant, you not only support their business but also create opportunities for mutual benefit. As a result, the staff and owner are more likely to reciprocate by introducing you to other interesting patrons, further expanding your network and opening doors to new connections. Filled with gratitude - builder of value and partnerships - power of choice and action advocate - change agent!
It's Friday again (insert Riton X Nightcrawlers vibe here!!) - rolling out another staff story to the #clubindustry #hospitalityindustry! I have to say I didn't think I'd ever be conveying a story about a hot dog in this exercise - but here we are. Full credit to both M. Kent Johnson, CCM, CCE, ECM and Will Guidara for this one! Sounds like I missed a heck of a speaker at the #CMAA conference in 2024, but when I read Kent's article on creating an Unreasonable Culture - I had to share it for those who haven't heard the story!! It's 4 minutes, but I promise it will be worth watching versus me trying to give it justice. https://lnkd.in/gJTCTAd9 If you did watch the video you will have 85% better retention and will have been 50% more engaged - little micro-learning Friday facts for you - LOL - Club Core Inc fun! This is a great reminder IMHO. I think that those of us who have "hospitality head" (not sure if that's a saying - but if not - it should be) instinctively know that although we may have a wide variety of activities at our Clubs, that really it's our team members interactions that are creating memories and value at all times - AND that's what our customers have signed up for!!!! Our biggest asset at our Clubs - our employees - hands down - not even close! Yes a $2.00 hotdog can apparently create a life long memory - a paradigm shift - launch a vision - lead to the best restaurant in the world - even spark a Ted Talk and so much more! Here's to all our staff out there hopefully looking for those #hotdogmoments! #attitudeofgratitude #staffengagement #ClubHR #Golfmanagement #stafflearning #digitalengagement # Kevin Carpenter Dave Cowan Kelley J. As great as it can be to work from home, it can also be isolating, and you may lose what, in my opinion, is one of the best perks of work - the human relationships and friendships you get to establish. With that in mind, although the virtual world will never replace an in-person experience, if done right, it can closely resemble it. I know this one does… #teambuilding #virtualevents #wineevents #socialevents

Chick-Fil-A consulted with a team from Ritz-Carlton to craft their classic “My pleasure” and standards for hospitality. We don’t have to re-invent the wheel - if you’re looking to upgrade performance in some area, there’s zero shame in copying the best to do it. Heck, it’s probably worth it to pay them to teach you directly. There’s no clear way to quantify the ROI from that consulting engagement, but I think it’s safe to say it’s paid off in spades.
