Changing jobs can mean learning to use new tools- a task that can be stressful. At Fever, we prioritize hiring top-tier engineers based on their skills rather than their knowledge of a specific framework. This means that—yes, you guessed it—new joiners have to learn new frameworks. If you are switching from React to Angular, we’ve got you covered! In this article, we share 10 practical tips that are useful within our team and make the transition a smooth one! 👉 Check out the article here: https://rb.gy/g69agk Thanks, Rodrigo Ferreira Fiori, for the tips. Hi all 👋 If you or someone you know may be interested in hiring an early-career but impressively resourceful software engineer who just gets things done and is capable of independently solving even problems suited for senior-level engineers, I'd like to refer Val Piuchanka. I met Val just intending to give him one or two mock interviews and pointers as a favor to a mutual friend. The first thing that stood out to me was his quickness and accuracy in troubleshooting errors. The second thing was how, when I'd ask him to use <something he's never heard of> to do <some task>, rather than ask what's that and pause for help, I'd see him on his shared screen immediately open a new browser tab, find official documentation, and read (like entire paragraphs), then rapidly iterate on examples. Seeing his potential I offered him 2-3 months of mentorship and gave him a project involving both frontend (Typescript/React/Redux) and backend (gRPC/Java)—namely building a fake stock exchange and trading API/platform from scratch. Over this time he continued to prove his qualities and more. He is thoughtful and humble, and cares about the quality of his work and always questions if there's a better way. I can see him in his next team being the colleague that looks to help, takes interest in any ticket frontend or backend, delivers consistently, and can't put down a tricky problem until it's solved. Thanks for reading this far. I'd greatly appreciate a re-post by anyone whose network may have more opportunities. Feel free to reach out to Val directly (https://lnkd.in/eZiuu5-W), or to me if you have any questions. I can answer honestly about Val's strengths and potential areas of growth, and I can also be honest if a position doesn't feel like the right match for his experience in regards to your needs. #frontend #backend #fullstack #jobs #jobsearch #techjobs #opentowork #hiring #javascript #typescript #react #java #grpc

PSA 🚨 During the current frontend engineer hiring, I have come across at least half a dozen CVs where linkedin/github urls and mailto: links point to faangpath.com/other template resume maker websites. It takes one click for the person screening to move to the next CV, I doubt they will copy and paste those urls in a browser. Therefore, please test links on your CV before you apply. Also, remember what Virus said: #hiring #resume #job #application

I normally don't offer my opinion like this but I feel like some developers are referring to themselves as "junior" developers. I used to do this also but I stopped because after I thought about it, "junior" sells yourself short . If you can code and create applications, you ARE a developer. Don't give the recruiters and hiring managers out there another reason to pass you by. I know I shouldn't talk since I haven't really broken in yet but I'm wondering what you think about this? #softwaredevelopment #coding #techjobs #jobsearch

𝐑𝐞𝐜𝐫𝐮𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐢𝐩: 𝐏𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐠𝐞𝐭 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 “𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐂𝐕 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐛𝐞 𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐧 1 𝐩𝐚𝐠𝐞” Are you a Developer / QA Engineer or working in any IT related position and you are looking for a new job? 𝐏𝐮𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐟𝐮𝐥𝐥 𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐡 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐨𝐧 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐂𝐕, even if it makes it longer. The more detailed your tech stack is, the better your chances of getting an interview ✅ I regularly receive CVs with a one-line tech stack. For me, it's more or less a guessing game. I definitely prefer to have a full picture over having a one pager. Do not overload it (especially if you did not work with any of those technologies) but do not try to keep it super lean. My personal favourite: give a 5-level classification of your skills with the specific technology. Example: JavaScript (+++++), Vue.js (+++), Angular (++) ... And if you can add some projects examples on top...a Recruiters dream 😏 👏 You got my point. Good luck 🙂 #recruitingtips #jobsearch #developer #qaengineer #itjobs #techstack #cv #resume #jobhunting #interview #skills #projects #Appsfactory #recruiting #hiring #talentacquisition #jobsearch #career #jobs #work #employment #newjob
