Always amazed when you walk the floor and see some of the common exhibitor mistakes. Here are my top peeves: - Stop hiding behind tables and creating barriers to engagement - Don't confuse feeding people with interest in your product - Bad signage that says nothing about your brand ** - Get off your phones - Let your product speak for itself (ie don't hide your latest plant-based chicken nugget under a ton of sauces and spices). Amazed that folks will spend all that money on attending NRA, but then fall short to represent their brand. ** saw one booth that said "we do social media for restaurants". Yup, you and 1,000 freelancers/ influencers. Well, at least they were at the right show.
Did you attend the NRA this week? We saw record attendees at this years National Restaurant Association Show (back to pre-covid levels), expanded exhibitor space, and bookings for 2025 ahead of trend. But what will operators take away from the show? What will help them fight inflation, labor challenges, and declining visits? What were your take-aways, what stood out?

We are pleased to share the latest edition of our quarterly F&B publication, offering insights into the economic outlook and key trends in the regional F&B sector for 2024 and beyond. The Food and Beverage (F&B) sector is expected to continue to grow and demonstrate resilience in 2024, partly due to a focus on sustainability and food security, including increased domestic food production and consumption. This quarter, we also spoke with Dani El-Zein, CEO of Supy, a leading homegrown inventory management platform for restaurants and hospitality businesses. According to Dani, F&B in the UAE is experiencing a dynamic evolution, attracting some of the world’s best-known dining brands, nurturing homegrown success stories and transforming the region into a gastronomic destination.
