🚨 NEWS: The FIA is seeking for a manufacturer that can provide a new “lightweight” halo version for the 2026 cars. One of F1‘s goal is to reduce the weight of the car with around 750kg targeted. According to the tender document sent to potential manufacturers states that the new version must have a mass “greater than 6kg must be titanium alloy”. The current version sits at 7kg. Therefore the FIA expects a reduction of one kilogram at the most. Such a reduction would mean a significant gain given the high forces the Halo is required to withstand. Halo is known for its huge safety benefits. In order to ensure that the new “lightweight” version makes no concessions to safety, there will be three static tests, submitting up to 125 kilonewtons of force. #F1 #Formula1
