I have created a syngas generator® that converts tires into fuel for gas engines and gas turbine power generators. This process does not emit NOx and results in odorless emissions.
What should we do with the growing amount of tire waste, but not by burning it, we can reduce landfill waste, we create value from waste! Converting plastic and tire waste into energy carriers such as heating oil, diesel, barbecue coke, syngas used for electricity generation, etc. is an ingenious process that turns waste into usable energy. Waste-to-Energy plant is a great alternative to reduce the area for waste treatment and disposal, in addition to generating energy for all small cities in the region. A good alternative is to create an inter-municipal cooperative between small cities to share costs It is a social advantage if small villages we are supplied with locally produced energy, thus creating local jobs for the local energy using population from waste collected locally, where the government should finance projects, if they do not want their country to be covered in waste . Our environmental protection innovation is the use of microwave technology. The main advantage of microwave steam plasma reactors is that there is no nitrogen in the water vapor plasma in the plasma reactor, only oxygen and hydrogen from the water vapor plasma. There is no nitrogen oxide in the output, which is 40 times more toxic than carbon monoxide, no sulfur dioxide (filter ceramic with filters, adsorbents), minimal carbon dioxide, plus odorless emissions. The hydrogen introduced into the reaction space with the microwave steam plasma slows down the reactions of gaseous sulfur, phosphorus and free chlorine formation, which can be removed in the gas cleaning unit. Microwave steam plasma reacts with chlorine-containing substances and does not produce dioxin, which is one of the most toxic substances. About microwave plasma in general, atmospheric plasma source is based on a specially designed microwave cavity. Microwaves are fed into the plasma source, resulting in a high field concentration in the center of the cavity for high-speed plasma chemistry. In the case of gas plasmas, its typical value is 4000 ºK for the neutral gas temperature, and 6000 ºK for the electron temperature at an electron density of 6000 ºK 1020 m-3 In this cavity, several kilowatts can be injected, so that a gas temperature of up to 6000 ºK can be created, which is excellent for the removal of very dilute concentrations of air pollutants such as volatile organic compounds (VOC) and their fluorinated derivatives (FOC). Wind turbine blades can be reused in a non-thermal microwave plasma field where the electron temperature is much higher than the generated gas temperature, including the vibrational and rotational temperature of the molecules. In the plasma space, all complex compounds such as resins, aromatic molecules and tars are effectively degraded and separated from the inorganic glass fiber reinforcement. I am a manufacturer and designer in the implementation: www.gumienergia.hu

"The trash just keeps coming!" Mike's clean-up was crazy: In 10 days, Mike's team cleaned up one of the dirtiest beaches in the Philipines, recovering over 200,000 kgs of trash. At one point, the new waves of trash kept coming faster than they could deal with! With the help of heavy-duty excavators, they cleaned it all up. But I am afraid to ask for how long... Because no amount of bins & clean-ups will fix plastic pollution. To turn off the tap on plastic pollution, we have to go to the source. And the source is not us, the consumers. It's the corporate board rooms. Not every beach is lucky to have Mike. But we are lucky to have people like Mike. Our State of our Beaches 2023 report is out today! What is the state of our beaches? What litter did you find the most of? Are things getting better or worse? 🌊 Highlights from the report: - Half of all litter on UK beaches comes from public sources - either dumped, blown, or washed onto beaches - Drinks-related litter, including plastic bottles and cans, continues to plague UK shores, with an alarming 14% increase since last year. - On a positive note, disposable plastic cutlery, trays, and straws show a 5% decrease, indicating the effectiveness of recent bans. Our Beachwatch Manager, Lizzie Price shares: "Urgent and decisive action from UK governments is needed to accelerate our shift towards a circular economy, where we reuse, repair and recycle. The public needs greater access to refillable products and systems need to be implemented in which manufacturers are responsible for their waste," A huge thank you to over 14K of you who came out to help us clean up our coastline last year - we really couldn't do what we do without you 💙 Take a look at the report to find out more👇 https://lnkd.in/edFPk_WP

The Marine Conservation Society State of our Beaches 2023 report is out today. For me, it has one over-riding message: laws and regulations work. Our amazing volunteers (over 14,000) have found fewer plastic cotton buds, fewer plastic straws and fewer single use plastic cutlery - and plastic bags on beaches have been going down for a few years now. What do all these have in common? The answer is regulation - either through bans or charges. What we need urgently now is: -Integrated Deposit Return Systems for all drinks containers, including glass, across the UK - we know from international experience that they work! -Policies that encourage reducing, reusing, repairing and recycling (leading to a circular economy) -Investment in sewage infrastructure to stop sewage overflows polluting our rivers and seas. With the help of our volunteers, at the Marine Conservation Society we will continue to collect data to help achieve these policy changes.

Well it should be a compulsion to every company as growing demands.
📢 BREAKING: California introduces bill to require reusable cups at dine-in chain restaurants! Introduced by Senator Blakespear and co-sponsored by 5 Gyres, Californians Against Waste, Heal the Bay, and The Surfrider Foundation, SB 1167 addresses one of the most common single-use items polluting California’s coastlines, neighborhoods, and national parks 🥤 “Reuse is the foremost solution to preventing single-use waste at its source. Disposable plastic cups are among the most common items found in 5 Gyres’ TrashBlitz waste characterization studies conducted in California, in both urbanized and wilderness settings. Replacing these cups with nontoxic, reusable cups for customers dining in will reduce plastic pollution, cut costs for businesses, and shift consumer behavior towards reuse. It’s a win-win for California,” said Alison Waliszewski, Director of Policy and Programs at The 5 Gyres Institute. Read the press release at https://lnkd.in/ghPJZ_vw

Celebrate Memorial Day by reducing impact on the environment as well as saving money and helping improve human health. From the Recycl Right website: “Use reusable plates and cutlery – This will prevent your trash from filling up with all of those single-use plastic plates and silverware. Embrace leftovers and share the wealth – The weekend’s grilling feast can be the first workday of the week’s lunch, or even a midnight snack after the party. Send leftovers home with guests – even encourage them to bring reusable containers to take food home – and be sure to enjoy whatever is left for yourself and your family. Encourage guests to recycle – Use recyclable plastic and aluminum cups, and make sure to set out clearly-marked recycling bins so guests know where to put those empty cups, bottles and cans.” Consider adopting these and other sustainable practices all summer long! #winthropuniversity #winthrop #RecycleRight #reducewaste #MemorialDay #compost #DontWasteFoodSC

The City of Culver City, California is considering a series of new restrictions to reduce plastic waste and other pollutants. The proposed measures would build upon existing plastic bans and introduce additional prohibitions on specific products and practices, including the sale and use of single-use plastic beverage bottles, single-use plastic carryout bags, and balloons. The city is also looking into a citywide outdoor smoking ban and restrictions on using astroturf. But the city isn’t simply instituting these new restrictions without the input of the community. They are actively discussing possible ramifications and challenges with businesses and residents of the city alike. It will be interesting to see how this plays out and how this might affect other cities and towns in Southern California and beyond. https://lnkd.in/e_jeBek8
