Some stats Currently our 'client leads' to 'active jobs' ratio is 15:2. Meaning for every 15 leads (someone saying, "Oh actually, I might need someone in ... for...") Yes I am self employed and loving it! I cannot explain the feeling when someone asks, "what is your hourly rate?" I am doing it with God's grace, and in a process of releasing my first two August invoices, yes my first month. It started with the end of season at JobStarter, then a decision to go solo, whilst God was aligning, everything during my two month recovery. This picture was taken at the end July where I celebrated and motivated the amazing women and men @LearntoEarn during their graduation in Khayelitsha, my cup was filled. That was followed by an amazing road trip down the Garden Route with an amazing dear friend, 😂 who is now my client, 🤣 the objective was to make an impactful difference in a small town. That further filled my cup and we demystified quite a lot of assumptions and connected dots with young people literally sitting on pavements, to entering serious homes with butlers. South Africa is the best. After that I connected with a friend in the monitoring and evaluation space, who said in not so many words, "you are the only person who can get this data in an authentic and a relatable way", no pressure. 😅 After a couple of other similar engagements, a respected colleague has invited me to follow due diligence in order to possibly serve on their board. Mouthful, I know, but these only happen when God is at work and continues to lay the ground. Thank you for the support. I already have one half day employee, everyday is a new day, it always takes a different shape, with tons of challenges, but it is all worth it. 📞 Can someone offshore in The Philippines be on the phone? A common question that came up again yesterday. And the answer is yes! Like in any country, not everyone is suitable or would want to do a phone based role so you’ll still need to find people who want to do it and who have great comms skills - but will you find them? Yes. Sometimes businesses are concerned about their brand messaging when it sounds like the call is going overseas rather than being answered in Australia. In my personal view so long as the person taking the call has great comms, can articulate well and most importantly listen, these concerns normally fade away. We’ve done a few tech support roles recently where the team are speaking to customers to provide support. Whilst great people will always be hard to find - they’re definitely there.
