An Incredible moment for TriviumVet, This will sure spread more awareness of HCM (Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy) in cats & save many cat lives, Check out the link below in the post to get an insight into the progress on HCM !
The cat is out of the bag! At TriviumVet we were delighted to partner with Viewpoint with Dennis Quaid on their Pioneers in Animal Health Series which features our Feline HCM Research. Our team travelled to North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine to hear from lead RapaCat investigator Dr. Joshua Stern and owners who participated in the RapaCat study. The episode aims to increase awareness about HCM and its prevalence in the feline community - this heart condition affects 1 in 7 cats! The collaboration between Viewpoint and TriviumVet seeks to educate the public about the condition, its diagnosis, available treatment options, and the innovative efforts underway in the field of veterinary pharmaceuticals to combat HCM. Owners can find out about how to get involved in the next stage of the research (the HALT Study) at hcmincats You can watch the 5 minute piece on the link below! https://hubs.li/Q02prw_C0

Studying the anti-inflammatory effect of extracellular vesicles derived from sheep milk: in this study, Bigboy Simbi, Ryan Pink, Louise Whatford and Charlotte Lawson at Royal Veterinary College & Oxford Brookes University sought to investigate the isolation of EVs from raw sheep milk and their potential impact on inflammatory responses in THP-1, a human monocyte cell line, in vitro https://lnkd.in/eQCQF5gr They used Vesi-Dye LMB-600 to stain these EVs, making them detectable by flow cytometric analysis. Their results indicated that similarly to cow's milk, sheep milk contains EVs that can impact human monocyte/macrophage responses, warranting further investigation into its potential benefits for human and non-human animal health #extracellularvesicles #exosomes #flowcytometry #inflammation #Vesiculab

This is fantastic, TriviumVet ! Appreciate all of your efforts focused on Feline HCM, including driving awareness publically. Having experienced this personally, cat caregivers must arm themselves with the latest information about risk factors, signs, diagnosis, and treatment of HCM, so they can collaborate with their cat's vet team regularly, which allows for earlier diagnosis, proper treatment, and monitoring. #felinemedicine #felineheartdisease #cathealth #earlydiagnosis
