My top 4 takeaways from the #McKinsey AI Report 2024 👉 1. The spread of GenAI among organisations is huge: 65% of respondents say their organisations are regularly using GenAI in at least one business function, up from one-third last year. 2. The average organisation using GenAI is doing so in two functions, most often in marketing and sales and in product and service development, as well as in IT. 3. Inaccuracy and intellectual property infringement are the most recognised and experienced risks of GenAI use. Top-3 Gen AI risks that organisations consider relevant are: inaccuracy (63%), intellectual property infringement (52%), and cybersecurity (51%). 4. There are three #archetypes for implementing GenAI solutions: #takers use off-the-shelf, publicly available solutions; #shapers customise those tools with proprietary data and systems; and #makers develop their own foundation models from scratch. 📚 Reference: “The state of AI in early 2024: GenAI adoption spikes and starts to generate value”, QuantumBlack AI, McKinsey (2024). AI is changing our world. In 2024, Boards should consider conducting a risk assessment of AI’s impact on their business if they haven’t already. Boards should be asking essential questions like: Does the board and management see AI as a force for good, a danger to world order, or something in between? Could we use AI to augment employee efficiency and effectiveness? Should we even use it at all? A board of directors has a responsibility to understand AI’s impact on all stakeholders, including investors, customers, employees, suppliers, and the community. Companies should also continue to invest in cybersecurity measures and foster a culture of continuous learning to keep pace with evolving AI technologies. https://lnkd.in/ev7QXPcq

Empowering Your Business for the AI-Driven Decision Revolution…
Is your organization ready for the future of decision-making? In a world where half of the business or organizational decisions could be taken by AI, companies must work hard to build trust. From the chief procurement officer (CPO) and chief information security officer (CISO) to operations support, everyone has a role in #TrustedAI, but each has its own specific challenges. Hence, frameworks must reflect their challenges and criteria. By understanding the impact of generative AI on your operating model we can help you apply Trusted AI from the use-case level to the corporate level. Our multi-framework approach doesn’t attempt to be a “one size fits all” solution but instead contains frameworks tailored to different roles and business scenarios. Thanks to Gartner for this article to Determine whether GenAI makes sense for your use case: This is important because some use cases are not a good fit for AI and do not merit further consideration. Map your use case against the relevant use case family. GenAI is: Highly useful: Content generation, conversational user interfaces, knowledge discovery Somewhat useful: Segmentation/classification, recommendation systems, perception, intelligent automation, anomaly detection/monitoring Hardly useful: Prediction/forecasting, planning, decision intelligence, autonomous systems This is very important and we met in our experience during last months in Aton S.p.A. Società Benefit GenAI may also be a poor fit for your use case if the risks that come with it are unacceptable and cannot be effectively mitigated. These include unreliable outputs, data privacy, intellectual property, liability, cybersecurity and regulatory compliance, either alone or in combination with one another. With people beginning to talk about deploying AI Agents and AI becoming systemic across organizations its time to stop thinking about just making AI "Responsible" and instead thinking about how you can Trust AI. Where Responsible AI looks predominantly at a single solution, Trusted AI looks at the changes required from business strategy through to operations when AI isn't just a few independent projects.
