Franklin & Sons | Remarkable Drinks since 1886 THE BEST DESERVES YOUR ATTENTION-GOLD MEDAL WINNER The WHY on Franklin & Sons The world’s best gins deserve mixers of equal caliber – and the Franklin & Sons Indian Tonic certainly answers the call. When you’re taking your gin collection through its paces, you have to be sure that your mixers are as masterful as your spirits. That’s where Franklin & Sons comes in. When making a classic gin and tonic, there are two key considerations for your mixer: natural flavor and carbonation. Franklin & Sons combine rich, natural flavors with a lot of carbonation, to make sure that the bubbles lift the gin – or any spirit that you’re making a drink with. This endless attention to the bubbles in your bottle is a fundamental part of crafting the perfect mixed drink. It’s carbonation we have to thank for lifting the aromas of your gin – and, unless carbonation is perfectly calibrated, your G&T can easily go flat after the addition of ice. Carbonated like no other mixer. Taste the difference. Franklin & Sons Natural Indian Tonic Water earned a Master medal thanks to its “hints of quinine and sweet citrus on the nose” and “good carbonation”. Busting Misconceptions About Non-Alcoholic Drinks: The Truth Behind VE Refinery Misconception 1: “Our Mission is to Replace Alcohol” There’s a common myth that as the founder of a non-alcoholic drinks company, the founder must fundamentally disagree with alcohol and want to abolish it all together. This couldn’t be further from the truth. Victoria’s mission isn’t about opposing alcohol; it’s about providing exciting and sophisticated alternatives. Picture this: at a recent event, Victoria clinked glasses with guests, her non-alcoholic spritz sparkling just as brightly as the champagne around her. "It's all about choice and enjoying the moment," she says with a smile. Here’s the story behind VE Refinery: On a sober-curious quest to find the pleasure of that first glass of champagne, in an alcohol-free version, I drank more musty flavoured fizz, elderflower cordial, and weak tea infusions than you can shake a mint leaf at. Don't get me wrong, I'm British and I love tea, but the experience of drinking tea is not the same as drinking champagne... or so I thought. So, after two years of searching and inevitably learning all about the art of dealcoholized wine and other alcohol-removed beverages, I finally found what I consider to be the world's best alcohol-free fine wines, spirits, and aperitifs. I also humbly ate my words through the discovery of the REAL Drinks Co's range of fermented sparkling teas. Expertly sourced hand-picked loose-leaf teas that are naturally fermented for all the depth, flavour, and complexity of a fine wine, even without the alcohol. Fortunately for you fine folk, since I grew up with siblings and learned how to share, I decided to help others discover a new way of drinking by sharing my best finds from the wonderful world of non-alcoholic adult alternatives. VE Refinery started with a Noughty find and is now transforming the way that Switzerland drinks, sip by sip. 𝗗𝗶𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝗝𝘂𝗹𝘆 𝗶𝘀 𝗗𝗿𝘆 𝗖𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵? 🌳 But what is dry cider, and why should you be drinking it? Dry cider is hard cider with 0 mg of residual sugars. Most people assume that hard cider is sweet and full of sugar, but it's easier to make "dry" or with the sugar removed. So, if you're looking for something adventurous and different to drink, are watching your sugar intake, or prefer the flavors of dry beverages, like dry white wine, Lambic-style beers, dry sake, champagne, gin and tonics, dry martinis, or an Aperol Spritz, give dry cider a go! The flavor profiles are as vast as the ingredients that go into them. #MOCKTAILBAR A mocktail is a non-alcoholic mixed drink that's meant to mimic the complexity and presentation of craft cocktails, but without the alcohol. Mocktails are often called "virgin cocktails" and are made with a variety of ingredients like juices, herbs, syrups, and sodas to create unique flavors. Some mocktails are inspired by alcoholic drinks, and bartenders may use zero-proof spirits to create mock versions of cocktails like a Negroni. basic mocktail formula: 1 part citrus, 1 part sweetener, 2 parts nonalcoholic spirit, and 3 parts mixer.

3 reasons why you should drink spirits neat: Number 1: You bought a high quality expensive whisky, like a highly aged single malt scotch, and want to appreciate the craftsmanship and nuanced flavours in your drink. Number 2: Your spirit has been through a unique distillation process which gives it extra flavours. Number 3: You're having a spirit that has been aged, giving it layers upon layers of flavours. The best way to enjoy a drink neat is to take small sips at a leisurely pace so that you appreciate all its aspects. Remember to sip on water between every few sips of whisky to stay hydrated and reset your palate. Here's an important tip: Drinking spirits neat means pouring them straight into your glass from the bottle, and drinking them at room temperature. Chilling the spirit before serving it, or stirring it with ice and then straining it in your glass will not count as drinking it neat. A temperature change will impact the taste of your drink. What spirits do you like drinking neat? Tell us in the comments section below. #sonalholland #masterofwine #spirits #whisky #whiskey #alcoholtips #winetips #wineexpert
