You did it!👏
Thanks to the generosity of all our supporters, we hit our target for the ‘Heat and Eat’ appeal- you raised over £25,000 !!! Incredible!!
From schools to building sites, supermarkets to police stations, beauty salons to community groups, your generosity will help over 450 Fife children currently living in poverty keep warm, and support their families in crisis situations. The Christmas gifts and donations ensured every Fife Gingerbread family had presents to open on Christmas days.
To everyone who donated, a heartfelt thank you. You made a difference to a child in your community, your school, your streets.
In 2025, we will continue to challenge the barriers that keep families in poverty, and with your support, we can make the future brighter for those who need our support.
Next week you will see more wonderful people who helped us get there.
🌟 Volunteers of America-Texas | Continues to be one of the Mint Female Federal Bureau of Prisons programs nationwide. An initiative aimed at revolutionizing the reentry experience for women in federal custody. Here's why it's a game-changer:
1️⃣ Tailored Support: The Mint Program is specifically designed to meet the unique needs of women in federal custody. From trauma-informed care to gender-responsive programming, we're providing tailored support to help women thrive during and after incarceration.
2️⃣ Empowerment Through Education: Education is key to unlocking opportunities. That's why the Mint Program offers a wide range of educational opportunities, from GED classes to vocational training, empowering women to build brighter futures for themselves.
3️⃣ Comprehensive Reentry Services: Our program offers a comprehensive array of reentry services, including job placement assistance, housing support, and substance abuse treatment. By addressing the root causes of incarceration, we're helping women successfully reintegrate into society.
4️⃣ Community Engagement: We believe in the power of community. The Mint Program fosters connections between women in custody and community organizations, creating a support network that extends far beyond prison walls.
5️⃣ Promoting Rehabilitation and Reconciliation: At the heart of the Mint Program is a commitment to rehabilitation and reconciliation. By providing women with the tools and support they need to heal and grow, we're paving the way for brighter futures and stronger communities.
🌱 Women in prison are often the primary or sole caregivers of children prior to incarceration. For offenders who will give birth during their incarceration, there are two programs offered to assist these mothers before, during, and after childbirth; these include Mothers and Infants Together (MINT) and the Residential Parenting Program (RPP). The MINT Program is a community residential program that aims to assist offenders during pregnancy.
Big thanks to Pastors Matt and Melissa Forgey and the The Table Community Church for an incredible Mother’s Day for moms in our Mothers and Infants Nurturing Together (MINT) Program! MINT allows expectant women who are incarcerated the opportunity to prepare for birth and parenthood as they complete their jail sentences. Your donations of diapers, wipes, clothes, food, and devotionals mean so much. To help change the life of a baby in our MINT program, donate here > https://bit.ly/3UVB7bt
Charity—whether through money, food, clothing, or toys—is a vital practice that we should make a regular part of our lives. In Islam, even a simple smile is considered an act of charity.
It’s inspiring to see people dedicate their time and effort to something spiritually enriching while supporting those in need. Here are some key takeaways about charity and its significance in Islam.
Charity helps alleviate poverty, reduce inequality, and strengthen bonds within the community, fostering a sense of mutual care and responsibility.
Islam emphasizes that acts of charity, big or small, are significant in the eyes of Allah, as I said above even a smile can count as charity.
In fact , Zakat(charity) is one of the Five Pillars of Islam, requiring Muslims to give a fixed percentage (usually 2.5%) of their wealth annually to help the needy, support social welfare, and promote economic balance.
Charity is considered a way to purify one’s wealth and soul, reduce greed, and earn Allah’s blessings and forgiveness. The Qur’an and Hadith frequently promise immense rewards for those who give generously.
Ultimately, charity benefits both the giver and the receiver, serving as a powerful means to foster a more just, fair, and compassionate society.

With Christmas fast approaching, I felt inspired to give back to the community in a meaningful way. I therefore personally took the lead in organising Christmas pamper boxes for women and children in refuge at Pennine Domestic Abuse Partnership (PDAP).
This involved planning, coordinating donations, and working closely with Deborah from PDAP to ensure we could make a real impact for their clients in need. Our Family Department already work very closely with PDAP who are a key provider of domestic abuse services in Kirklees so it was incredibly rewarding to hear how much this will mean to the families at the refuge.
Also, many thanks to the two offices that donated, we successfully gathered enough donations to fill four boxes!
The Los Angeles wildfires have been a stark and heartbreaking reminder of the disproportionate vulnerability of older adults and people with disabilities in disasters, accounting for nearly all of those who lost their lives so far. At AARP Foundation, we are committed to rebuilding these communities—so they can emerge stronger and more resilient for everyone.
Please consider donating to help us provide relief and long-term recovery for those most affected. AARP will match the first $500,000 in donations dollar-for-dollar, and all funds will go directly to organizations on the ground supporting the recovery. https://lnkd.in/eJRMZFVX
📢 **We’re Making an Impact Beyond the Local Community!** 🌍

These individuals are eager to start their journey toward a better future, and they trust Erika’s Closet to help them transition back into the community successfully.
💪 This is why your support is crucial! Your donations enable us to continue this vital work—not just welcoming individuals upon release, but also preparing them for the transition long before they step out. Together, we can provide the tools, resources, and hope they need to rebuild their lives.

In 2025, Hagar's Heart will celebrate 5 years of supporting, educating, and empowering domestic violence survivors through self-care initiatives. In 2025, we have agreed to provide over 400 I See You boxes a month to domestic violence organizations for their emergency shelters, as well as those seeking outreach services. This is more than double our monthly donations now! This is a large task, but not one that we cannot handle... because of your generosity.
We know you will help us serve these men and women; whether through in-kind donations, a one-time donation, or a recurring donation. As you consider your end of year giving, we hope you will think of those we serve. Your generosity provides dignity, a new beginning, and a message of hope for the future. https://lnkd.in/gQGPeYdF
🌟 A Powerful Reminder from Leon Guy 🌟
“I think sometimes people hesitate to help because they feel like their contribution won’t be enough. But the truth is, every small step matters. Every dollar, every item, every gesture adds up.” – Leon Guy, Facility Manager at Crossroads
When you take that first step to help, no matter how small it seems, it makes a difference. 💖
🔹 Leon shared a story: someone came in and wanted to donate $10, unsure of how much it could really help. But that $10—added to others—becomes part of something much bigger. It could feed families, provide dignity to someone in need, or simply offer a moment of relief.
“It's not about the size of the donation, it's about taking action. Every bit helps. And together, we create change.”
At Crossroads, we see the direct impact of these small steps every day. The challenge may feel overwhelming, but every act of kindness makes a real difference.
🔹 Join us in taking that step. Whether it's a $10 donation or a few hours of your time, you can help create change. Together, we can make sure no one has to go without.

Do you want to help some well deserving children that need your help kicking butt at school this year so they can grow up to help their communities and do great things? (who could say no to that?!!!)
School starts on the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota in THREE weeks. With an unemployment rate over 80%, many families struggle to provide even the basics. The children, with no control over their circumstances, are the ones who suffer the most.
Select things from this amazon wishlist: https://bit.ly/3WHfa0A (shipping address should come up as Robbie White Eyes/Two Bulls).
The donations go straight to South Dakota to Ingrid Schneider's contact on the reservation that puts these together for the kids.
In addition to selecting things on the list myself- if YOU select something & donate it, comment below. I will donate $5 per person, up to $150 for them to get other materials they need. That's just 30 people to help out.

We help nonprofits clean up donor & program data, save staff hours managing CRM systems, and boost fundraising & program outcomes tracking. Our 3-Phase Approach: assess data infrastructure, optimize, and train your team.
Nonprofits setting up fundraisers and acting as pass-through entities for the LA County fire victims pay special attention to tracking those donations.
Here are some quick tips to stay organized and transparent:
1️⃣ Don’t mix these donations with your annual funds. Keep them separate to maintain clarity.
2️⃣ Create dedicated donation/landing pages specific to the crisis.
3️⃣ Tag donors in your CRM to track how and why they were activated for this campaign.
4️⃣ Share reports with your community for visibility and accountability.
Over $50M has already been donated to support victims of the LA County fires.
Track your efforts accordingly, and tell your impact story when all is said and done. Leverage those reports for additional support and to highlight ongoing needs as things progress.
Thank you to everyone answering the call—your work matters more than ever.
