B2B brands deserve ROI on their marketing investment, and we can help with that ---- > MarketingRefresh.com
How do industrial B2B brands establish a marketing budget? Is there a % of revenue that they are comfortable committing to sales, and then they take a fraction of that number and assign it to marketing? Are they asking colleagues at other companies what they spend on marketing each year? Are they reading Gartner reports? Are they thinking about revenue goals, and then reviewing past the marketing budget data that it took to reach those goals? Are they hiring a Fractional CMO and asking that person to do industry research and outline a high-level budget? Also, how is that budget split across technology, full-time roles, and consultants? I'd love to hear more about the things taken into consideration.

B2B Fractional CMO | Marketing Strategist | Founder of TINK Marketing & Design | Mom of Twins | Pilates Instructor - TINK Pilates
I recently spoke with a Founder/CEO at a networking event who was telling me how she loves being in business for herself but feels like she's doing everything. Sure, she had outsourced the basics and had an assistant, but between managing a delivery team, trying to build business, create new services and spit-balling marketing, she's overwhelmed and burnt out. 😩 When I asked her if she had a marketing team, she said that her admin assistant helps with simple things, but she didn't know where to start to build a team or what was working. I hear this from so many CEO's/Founders of mid-size companies. They are at a point where they just can't do everything anymore, and when it comes to growing marketing, they don't know where to start. The one thing they are 💯 sure of is they can't keep doing it. I told her there is a solution to getting the stress of the marketing function off her shoulders and building a marketing strategy that is aligned to business objectives. It's called a Fractional CMO. One gets the benefit from the expertise of an experienced marketing professional at a fraction of the cost of hiring a full-time executive, and can build/oversee a marketing team with resources that are brought in based on the needs of the strategy. I was honest with her. She didn't need a full-time CMO right now, but a Fractional CMO could provide the relief and confidence she needed to know marketing was being handled by someone else. And down the road, if/when she's ready, she can consider a full-time CMO. If you're feeling overwhelmed and need help with your marketing strategy, consider a Fractional CMO. It could be the solution you need to take your business to the next level. 📈 Contact me if interested and want to discuss if a Fractional CMO is a good fit for your business. #tinkmarketing #marketingleadership #marketingstrategy #b2b

Strategic PR & Communications Specialist | Crafting Compelling Narratives, Enhancing Brand Reputation & Driving Audience Engagement | Expertise in Media Relations & Crisis Management
B2B or B2C? Good or bad employer? Like every job it can vary hugely. From my experience (in B2B technology PR), it’s fantastic if you like the products you are promoting. I get to see new technology before it’s announced, get the inside track on how that tech is changing the world, and generally get paid to be an over-excited geek who loves our clients’ products. You also have really interesting intellectual problems to solve around messaging, positioning and promotion that can be very rewarding if you get the answer right. Personally I love working in a small company, so agency-side is ideal. Don’t underestimate the difference - you’ll do a lot more of the PR work in an agency, and spend a lot more time dealing with internal issues in a client. Ultimately if you are interesting in what makes people like products or services, love the products you will be promoting and enjoy reading about them or their markets, I don’t think you can beat it as a career. There are certainly a lot of worse jobs out there! #b2b #b2c #pr #publicrelations

When you’re building your first marketing team, it’s not enough to understand the various roles that make up an expert B2B marketing team, (you want the experts!) you also need to know which people to bring on first. After all, building out your marketing function, whether you’re hiring in-house or outsourcing or going the Fractional CMO + expert B2B marketing team, is a serious investment, and engaging the wrong marketing roles first can cost you valuable time and money. Which roles should you focus on first? When you’re building your first marketing team, chances are that you don’t have a marketing strategy or a strong marketing system and foundation in place. If you’re at this stage, our advice is to focus on more senior roles that can help you create your marketing strategy and support roles that can support your senior leader in building a solid initial foundation for your marketing and start executing.
