🌆 New York City is becoming a hub for climate tech, with the green economy predicted to generate 400,000 jobs by 2040. The city's regulatory environment is friendly to entrepreneurs in the space, and there are investments being made in infrastructure for decarbonization efforts. Policies like Local Law 97, part of New York City's Climate Mobilization Act, show the commitment of the New York Economic Development Corporation to support climate innovation. NYC and the NYU Green Bank have programs to help emerging climate tech startups scale. Many climate tech startups are already based in New York City, including some our portfolio companies: Assembly OSM, Clarity AI, Runwise, and Sealed. 🎥 Featuring Fifth Wall's Francesca Whitehead #jobs #climatetech
Let’s not forget the introduction of the Climate School at Columbia and the Climate hub for Stony Brook University on Governor’s Island, as well as $400B in clean energy and decarbonization efforts from New York State and the Climate Leadership and Community Preservation Act!

Well done, Fran!

2moYep, was super impressed when I was in NYC and Boston this February and met with both start-ups and investors with a very clear climate focus. My reflections comparing to Europe: - more prone to do first-of-a-kind HW - more focus also on climate adaptation - more fire-power and AUM Thanks for the visit to your office Fifth Wall and Francesca Whitehead
