Sand erosion poses significant challenges in the oil and gas industry, because it can lead to equipment damage, production loss and costly repairs. Existing sand control techniques—such as well completion, sand screens, sand separation or predictive models for sand production—are not fully effective. This article discusses sand erosion issues in detail. https://lnkd.in/dD-t4z8K

Using simple pressure and rotation to manipulate existing casing strings, the Rubblizer effectively breaks the bond between cement and casing, rubblizing the cement behind the casing. This makes removing casing quicker and more efficient, avoiding the need for costly milling operation and subsequent lost time issues, guaranteeing pulling success rates. Below you will find footage of testing of the tool. If you would like to know more about our Rubbizer and how it can transform your plug and abandonment and sot recovery activities, contact the team today, + 44 (0) 1224 572070. #deepcasingtools #decommisioning #casingrecovery #oilandgas #technology #drilling #innovation #slotrecovery #plugandabandonment #energy #emissionsreduction

Silica sand wears down equipment, and leaks can be hazardous to the surrounding environment. INVI OIL & GAS LLC is no stranger to this problem, so it turned to Iracore. 💡 The solution: A consistent coating of urethane over their frac equipment. ✅ The results: INVI's equipment lasted five times longer, and we gave them an inspection and repair protocol that eliminates costly downtime. Studies show our liners wear better and last longer, providing long-term cost advantages and reduced labor hours on job sites. Read more about our work with INVI and check out all our case studies at https://lnkd.in/gEFZWEiK.

Oil treatment plants before transportation Oil pumped out of wells comes to the surface together with formation water, associated gas and rock solid particles. Primary treatment consists in separating the mixture into components. Gas separation is relatively easy; however, oil together with water form an emulsion. Since the presence of water in oil significantly increases transportation costs, it undergoes mandatory dehydration. Oil dehydration and desalination plants To remove liquid and mineral salts from crude oil, the following equipment is used: 1- Heater-Treater and preliminary water removal unit (PWRU). 2- Gravity separator in the next post we will know more about these equipment

THE BOWL - PROACTIVE MONITORING MADE SIMPLE The Luneta Bowl is a versatile accessory commonly used in the oil and gas industry. It serves as both a sight glass and BS&W (Bottom Sediment and Water) bowl, making it a convenient tool for monitoring fluid levels and detecting impurities in oil and gas production processes. One of the key features of the Luneta Bowl is its construction material. It is made of impact-resistant Tritan™, a type of copolyester that is known for its exceptional strength and durability. This makes the Bowl stronger than other drain port sight glasses and able to withstand harsh operating conditions. In addition to its strength, the Luneta Bowl is also crystal clear, allowing operators to easily see the fluid levels and any impurities that may be present. It is also chemically resistant, making it suitable for use with a wide range of fluids and chemicals commonly found in the oil and gas industry. https://lnkd.in/e_ZpbpA2 #reliability #quality #contamination #bowl #lu

#CrudeOilDistillation 🧿Crude oil distillation is the process of separating crude oil into its constituent components, which have different boiling points, through heating and condensation. There are two main methods of distillation used in the petroleum industry: 🔵Atmospheric Distillation: 🔹This is the primary method of distillation where crude oil is heated at atmospheric pressure (around 1 atm). 🔹Crude oil is heated in a furnace and then fed into a distillation tower (also called a fractionation tower) where it is separated into various fractions based on their boiling points. 🔹The tower consists of several trays or plates, and as the heated crude oil vapor rises through the tower, it condenses at different heights based on the temperature gradients within the tower. 🔹The fractions are collected at different heights in the tower, with the lighter components condensing at the top and heavier components condensing lower down. 🔹Fractions obtained from atmospheric distillation include gases (such as methane, ethane, propane, and butane), naphtha, kerosene, diesel, and heavier products like lubricating oils and residues. 🟣Vacuum Distillation: 🔸Vacuum distillation is a secondary process that occurs after atmospheric distillation. It's used to further separate fractions at lower temperatures and pressures to avoid thermal cracking. 🔸By reducing the pressure inside the distillation tower (typically below atmospheric pressure), the boiling points of the fractions are lowered, allowing for separation at lower temperatures. 🔸Vacuum distillation is particularly useful for separating heavier fractions like vacuum gas oils (VGO) and vacuum residues, which have higher boiling points. 🔸The process helps to prevent the thermal cracking of heavier fractions that can occur at high temperatures. 💠In summary, atmospheric distillation is the primary method used to separate crude oil into various fractions at atmospheric pressure, while vacuum distillation is a secondary process used to further separate heavier fractions at lower temperatures and pressures to avoid thermal cracking. Both processes are essential in refining crude oil into useful products like gasoline, diesel, jet fuel, and various petroleum-based chemicals. #Lubrication #FundamentalConcept #Machnology #TechnicalKnowledge #Freeeducation #OilEnergy

Using the same principle as atmospheric distillation, the heavy products are separated from the residual medium products, by subjecting them to a second distillation phase known as "vacuum distillation". A smaller column is closed and then depressurized. This pressure drop makes it easier to recover the heavy products, whose boiling point is lowered. Gas oil is recovered at the top of the column, and heavy fuel oil at its base. The residues from vacuum distillation are recovered to produce lubricants. #TWOTW #12th #petroleum_Engineering #Drilling #Production #Refining
