Top class DOPs and Directors together over 9 days to create 3 pieces of film using #virtualproduction that are everyone’s to create, own and share. "We want to show how creativity, innovation, AI and good old fashion skills to pay the bills can all live together to create something amazing..." - Well done Steve, you're nailing it. New Media Manitoba and On Screen Manitoba are bringing together another talented group of filmmakers to learn and create using Virtual Production. To help kick off the program, we are happy to present a fresh promotional video highlighting some of this technology’s creative possibilities. We tried to push ourselves with this one and are grateful for all the support we got putting it together. When I first started using Sora, my initial reaction was, what is this, and why isn’t it working the way I want it to? It took me two days to realize that Sora isn’t a typical video generation or generative model. It’s a tool—one that requires you to develop your own workflow, your own unique approach to creating. Unlike other models where you simply type a prompt/image and get a result, Sora challenges you to think beyond that. Once I took a deeper dive into its capabilities—exploring how I could implement, enhance, and mix elements—I was absolutely blown away. The potential here is staggering. Considering this is just the first release, it’s clear that Sora is poised to become a game-changer in the way we approach cinema and VFX. Amazing work from the team at OpenAI pushing the boundaries of creativity!
