Thailand Successfully Uplifts ICCA Rankings, Report Says
The International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA) announced the release of its Country and City Rankings Report for 2023 during IMEX Frankfurt 2024. The results show Thailand jumped 6 places in one year, from the World’s 32nd in 2022 to 26th in 2023!
The report encapsulates the data of approximately 10,000 conventions held throughout 2023 across various regions worldwide. In summary, the Asian Region stands out at the top alongside Europe and America, followed by Latin America and Oceania. As the host of 143 ICCA-qualified conventions, Thailand has markedly elevated its standing in the global meetings landscape, securing the 26th position worldwide, 6th in the APAC region, and 2nd in ASEAN.
On cities level, Bangkok has ascended to the top 15 worldwide with 88 meetings, while Chiang Mai climbed 80 places to the world’s 122nd, a result of doubling its conventions from the year before. The report also indicates that Thailand's other two major MICE cities—Phuket and Pattaya—continually mark their places in the global meetings arena.
