Last week I wrote about using LLM Long Context windows to extract signal from large PDFs: https://lnkd.in/eFBqW9pt Gemini's context window theoretically allows you to push the entire Harry Potter series into a single LLM prompt. Amazing stuff. Today, I wrote about more creative utilizations of LLMs. In the post mentioned above, I identified a few small cap stocks that were interesting, and had the LLM do some financial analysis. This week, I was thinking: 'What would top-tier investors think of these stocks? And how would they talk about them amongst each other?' - There's only one way to find out -- well, only one way that I can actually control :) There are three things I love about LLMs: 1. Their ‘brain’ has read mostly everything on the internet, and can use that information to generate responses 2. They can ‘think’ faster than everyone else 3. They are up to almost any challenge, however unique or absurd it is, and will never say no. They are willing to try anything. Leaning into 3, I asked an LLM to simulate a discussion between some well-known investors about one of the stocks from the last post. The results were interesting! Here's a quick excerpt, but be sure to click into the attached post to learn more about who I chose, and what they 'said' "Let’s start with the basics. Their return on equity is a healthy 23.20%, and their net interest margin is 6.09%. That’s impressive. It shows they’re generating strong returns on their assets. Their efficiency ratio is also quite commendable, at 46.8%. This tells me they’re keeping a lid on expenses while growing their business." Convexitas Q2 Client Note is now live! The equity market looks like “No Risk” - until you look under the hood. Broadbased market indices in most all asset classes say there is extremely limited risk. S&P volatility is ~10th percentile. HY / IG Spreads same story. BUT, when you look at single names, realized risk has been much more normal. Single names are moving - just in a historically uncorrelated fashion. The math to get to a sub-10 correlation is almost hard to achieve.
