How did I finish my year? 🤷 What did my December look like? For me, December is a time for me to switch off and re-charge the batteries 🔋 Yes, I clear as many loose ends as possible and think about my goals and direction for the year ahead. But primarily, December is when I let my brain switch off 🧠 I take time away from the business. So that when I come to the planning stage, it is so much easier. I'm then able to answer some of the critical questions 👇 🤔 Where do I want to be next year? 🤔 And how many steps will it take to get me there? My main focus this coming year is Improving my processes. Many accountants have no time because they try to do all the steps in the process themselves. And as a result, their processes depend a lot on them. I'm at the point now where I want to separate my process from my people… because our processes should never be dependent on the person 🙅 Why? Because anything can happen in a business. What if that person leaves? Get’s sick? Or goes on maternity leave? 🤷 Things will fall apart quickly, leaving you to pick up the pieces...
