Reposting this piece (Payments 3.0: https://lnkd.in/gjJJXiSj) I wrote for Forbes back in October because sometimes what is old is new again haha... (1) Adyen stock is down yet again (this time ~20% over the past 5 days) and the volatility continues. 🤷♂️ (2) Stripe is starting to play chess and as of last week has decoupled its payment processing from the rest of their value-added services (VAS) stack. This is *exactly* the unbundling I was talking about. 🎯 "We are about to enter a critical period where individual payment-related services get unbundled and when, where and how they get rebundled is going to shape the future of the payments ecosystem." (3) Now we are juuuuuuuust starting to see the early inklings of what this rebundling might look like. Unfortunately, most of the current examples are due to private market dynamics (overfunding of VC-backed companies, etc.) and associated consolidation (of which there will be A LOT more) - but directionally it makes sense. Here are a few examples: 🤝 TokenEx merging with IXOPAY 💳 TabaPay acquiring the assets of Synapse 💰 Thunes buying Tilia This will be exciting to watch and see how it all plays out! 🍿

Regarding online payment management, #stripe is the first option that comes to mind because of its diverse features and detailed documentation. It's a must-have tool for all developers as it is the need of so many online businesses as it holds a 21% share of the $121.77 billion global payment processing solutions market. I have been working on several #stripe features like : 🔧 Technical Features: - Seamless Integration: Utilized Stripe’s tools to implement smooth and reliable payment systems, from checkout experiences to recurring billing. - APIs & Webhooks: Integrated one-time payments, recurring subscriptions (weekly, monthly, yearly), stripe customer billing portal, stripe webhook for monitoring and handling all purchases, subscriptions, expiry, and cancellations. - Customizable Reporting: Created detailed and tailored reports using Stripe’s advanced analytics features, providing actionable insights for better decision-making. 📈 Business Benefits: - Streamlined Operations: Enhanced efficiency by automating billing and payment processes, leading to smoother cash flow and reduced administrative overhead. - Global Reach: Expanded market opportunities by supporting various payment methods and currencies, allowing businesses to grow their customer base internationally. #Stripe #PaymentGateway #PaymentSolutions #BusinessGrowth #Fintech

Last week, Yuno launched something that's going to change the game for payment managers. Let me show you. Imagine you're a payments manager at a big company like Microsoft. You've got multiple payment processors - Adyen, Stripe, EBANX for Latin America, and so on. You've got a monitoring system to keep an eye on how they're all performing. But you can't watch that dashboard 24/7. What happens if there's an outage or a sudden drop in approval rates while you're on a long-haul flight or in the middle of the night? That's where our new product, Monitors, comes in. Here's what it does: 1️⃣ Detects anomalies in real-time. Outages, sudden drops in approval rates, you name it. 2️⃣ Automatically redirects traffic. No more scrambling to manually reroute transactions when a processor goes down. 3️⃣ Lets you set up custom alerts. You decide what triggers an alert based on specific conditions like country, currency, or whatever matters most to your business. Why is this a big deal? Because it takes the nightmare scenario for any payment manager - a processor outage during peak sales hours - and turns it into a non-event. Trust me, I've been there. I remember getting calls on Sundays because a payment processor was down. You're in the middle of a family lunch, and suddenly you're scrambling to get an engineer to make changes. It's a pain, and it can take hours to resolve. With Monitors, all that goes away. It's like having a super-smart, never-sleeping payments manager working for you 24/7. We've launched, and I couldn't be more excited. If you're a payment manager dealing with multiple processors, this is going to be a game-changer for you.

The interesting thing about the payfac model is how it supercharges distribution in a payment network, to the benefit of all network participants. A2A payments via PayTo have a similar pattern with directly connected members enabling PayTo Users, who in turn offer services to merchants.
New post: Payment facilitation (payfac) in 1,000 words Payfac is the model behind fintech’s biggest successes, from Stripe and Square to Shopify, Uber, and more. It's critical but often misunderstood, so here's an overview in 1,000 words.

If you're grappling with understanding the evolution of payment processing models and how technology is reshaping the industry's structure, I highly recommend taking the time to delve into this insightful piece by Matt Brown at Matrix. The convergence with Vertical ERPs (VERPs) is particularly intriguing, especially given the increasing ease of embedding payments. This trend has the potential to disrupt traditional models of Purchase Orders, Invoices, and B2B commerce, fundamentally altering established purchasing flows. renewtrak 🚀 Tidal Ventures #payments #renewals #subscriptions #salesautomation #fintech Michael Twaits

Great post by Marcel van Oost showcasing Adyen's embedded finance offerings. What I found surprising is Adyen's ability to offer a product on par with Stripe's with a fraction of the VC and half the manpower. Let me know your thoughts on why this might be. #fintech #payments #embeddedfinance
Stripe 🆚 Adyen The (Embedded Finance) Showdown: The Dutch payments company Adyen has emerged as a prominent player by seamlessly integrating financial products into its payment platform. With 27 global offices, $9.4B revenue, and $8.3B assets, Adyen has emerged as a payments powerhouse for enterprises, mid-market firms and platforms serving SMBs. Unlocking the power of unified commerce and digital payments for global enterprises, Adyen has evolved from its humble beginnings in 2006 to expand its scope and scale. In 2016, it introduced Adyen for Platforms (AfP) which enabled platforms to seamlessly embed payments into their offerings for SMBs, transcending sales channels and geographical barriers. But Adyen didn’t stop there. Recognizing the growing demand for greater control over payouts, the company broadened the scope of AfP to add Adyen Issuing (2019), expanding the embedded suite by enabling platforms to issue virtual and physical cards to their SMB customers.
