India's journey in strengthening underwater capabilities is transformative, led by three key projects: ➡️ Project 75 (1997): India's first step in building conventional submarines with French collaboration, developing Scorpene-class submarines, the backbone of India's submarine force. ➡️ Project 75I: Builds on experience, developing six advanced diesel-electric submarines with: - Indigenous expertise - Air-Independent Propulsion (AIP) for longer endurance - Advanced stealth and sensor technology Aim: Elevate submarine capabilities, reduce foreign dependence, and boost naval prowess. ➡️Project 76: Country’s first indigenously conventional diesel-electric submarine redefines submarine warfare with next-generation vessels featuring: - New designs - Enhanced AIP - Cutting-edge stealth and sensor technology Aim: Achieve strategic autonomy, ensuring India's maritime dominance with indigenous technology. Today we place the porthole in the underwater: Thanks to the collaboration established with Drass, we will contribute to the 𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐔𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐰𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐎𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐂𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐈𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐍𝐚𝐯𝐲 Marina Militare FlySight collaborate with DRASS on the development of the Navy’s first Underwater Operations Centre A cooperation agreement has been signed between DRASS and FLYSIGHT for the development of underwater traffic control centres. As part of Olterra ship’s construction program dedicated to submarine rescue and underwater interventions, the development program for the first Underwater Operations Centre of the Italian Navy, based on an important industrial patent of DRASS, has been launched. In this context, in anticipation of an expansion of its installation across all serving units of the Naval Squadron, DRASS and FLYSIGHT have signed an important cooperation agreement for the development of new generation electronic cartography, georeferenced representation and management of seabed operations. Today at the US Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland, the 2nd Joint Workshop on S-100 and S-200 is underway. This important event is organized by the International Association of Marine Aids to Navigation and Lighthouse Authorities (IALA) and the International Hydrographic Organization (IHO). IALA Secretary General Francis Zachariae (pictured here) opened the workshop by emphasizing the urgency for the global maritime community to prepare for key milestones in 2026 and 2029. These dates will signal the start of a fully digitally-integrated maritime transportation system. A key part of this transformation is the S-100 framework, which will take navigators beyond traditional Electronic Chart Display and Information Systems (ECDIS) and into an era of real-time navigation chart updates. This framework is designed to harmonize digital maritime products worldwide, ensuring seamless integration across the industry.
