For those that need it, here's a picture of the sunrise this morning 🙂 .
So, Wednesday 2nd October was a milestone for me. It was my 40th birthday 🎉
I can’t say that I was thrilled at the thought of this milestone coming my way, but it made me reflect nonetheless and I thought I’d share:
1) 💡 Don’t underestimate the power of now:
The present moment is what matters. Apart from having a great time with friends and family, I appreciated the company and the various faces that have been in some way part of my life.
2) 💡 Surround yourself with good people who are in your corner:
Appreciate those that will celebrate with you when you do well and look out for you when you aren’t; those are the people who want to see you win. You’ll soon filter through the ones who are trapped in their own ego’s and don’t want to see you do well.
3) 💡 Be in the corner of others:
No one is "self-made", people and community matter as much in life as they do in business. So find someone who needs you to be in your corner for them and celebrate them and their successes like its your own (purely because you care and not because you might need them to return a favour or two).

We Forgot to Celebrate, Didn’t We?
You know that feeling? You’ve been working hard, pushing towards that big goal, and then… you forget.
Not the goal itself, but the little victories along the way.
Maybe it’s finishing that tricky task you’ve been avoiding.
Or finally making progress on a side project.
Or even just getting through a tough week with a smile.
We’re all so focused on hitting those BIG milestones, both in our personal and professional lives, that we often forget to pause and recognize these small wins.
But those small wins? They’re what get us to the big ones. Step by step.
So, here’s a reminder: Celebrate the little moments. They matter just as much.
What’s one small win you’re celebrating today?

Wow! Explains A LOT!
Stopped me in my tracks.
Thanks Holly Morris & Alex Partridge for sheding light on something thats been niggling me for years!
For as long as I can remember I've questioned how long things last (degrees, course, etc). ⏳️
Or once the dopamine rush of a new creative idea has worn off, how long will it be before I hit the crash? 💥
What happens if this idea takes off, I go full throttle, create a whirlwind and then lose the drive & let people down? 😵💫
When I was barely conscious of this, I would seek out people who could enable me to get the idea across the line, or who could deliver on a idea (& therefore less flakey than me).
Ive come to realise theres a couple of issues with this;
1) my dreams & goals are my dreams & goals. Yes, leverage other people's skills to realise your dreams BUT its a fine line between blending skills and expecting others to do it for you. And, I suspect I used the excuse to seek out 'help' as a deliberate attempt to avoid the uncomfortableness of having to do it myself. Subconsciously sabotaging the idea to stay 'safe'.
2) The idea that I can't follow through or that I have an untrainable skill gap is misguided self awareness. Someone, somewhere, at some point in time, may have said something which I chose to internalise as 'I cant'.
I looked for evidence to back this up by replaying unhelpful scenarios & tagged those memories with the label of failure, none finisher, needs help etc etc
It's a fine line between knowing your abilities so you can find complimenting skills and letting those lacking skills shame you....
As part of my mindfulness practice I remind myself everyday of my gifts of creativity and my thirst for inquiry. I'm a creator and my medium for delivery is self expression.
Managing ADHD shame & over thinking is a life long practice. My brain feels like a sandstorm of ideas. I just can't follow up on all of them.
But, whats the rush....??
Sure, i risk some ideas falling by the wayside but, my purpose is to keep creating and keep expressing.
And, what was meant to be will follow with perfect timing. ♾️😍
What an incredible message about facing fear head on and how we can all work to be more courageous by being vulnerable enough to work together to find solutions. This can be applied to all areas of life.
If you are a leader I ask you this:
Are you courageous enough to be vulnerable so that you can truly serve those who follow you?
People often put leaders on a pedestal. It’s a natural thing to do when you respect someone. However, it often overshadows the many failures that the leader has overcome to get them to their current point in life.
Leaders, you have a DUTY to be vulnerable with those that deserve it, but especially with your direct followers. Help them grow from your past struggles and subsequent lessons. Share your wisdom. Share your passion. LEAD the way!

This was his message:
"My view is that the fears and adversities we encounter are our opportunity to accept what is and explore what is on the other side of fear to grow stronger, better, and have peace of mind."

What a powerful message. Take just a minute for this one.

This was his message:
When my grandma Vicki was struck down and murdered by a 14 year old high school dropout, my world detonated. The very laws of physics came into question. Up was down. Down was up. The center of gravity no longer existed. I was faced with two existential questions:
1. Is it possible after an incident of unimaginable depravity to forgive someone who doesn’t express any remorse?
2. Will it be possible to experience joy again, knowing that time doesn’t actually heal all wounds and you will face certain tragedies (violence, suicide, death of a child, etc) that never leave you?
I have lived my life pursuing in thoughts and deeds answers to these burning questions. Every ounce of labor I expend honoring Vicki’s incredible legacy brings a tenfold measure of healing.
Part of what I’ve learned is expressed by this physician talking about not working so hard to justify our existence. Rather, it’s about living an examined life with playfulness, and joy in the company of friends, family and loved ones— empathetic and kind to all, no matter what they’ve done.
We cannot seek harm for those who harm us or we will never know joy again. We won’t be unburdened by retribution. The obverse is true. We must practice kindness especially to those who don’t deserve it.
We will live unburdened and joyful when we seek no harm under any circumstance, and offer love to all those who cross our pass.
