This underscores the pivotal role of community in the business world. Building a strong community is not just a feel-good factor. It's a strategic imperative. We should be focusing on: • Quick and reliable responses. • Networking and connecting with the right people. • Sharing knowledge and resources openly. Doing so not only enhances collaboration, but also drives tangible business outcomes. High-engagement communities are 4x times more likely to be high-performing entities. 3 things we learned from speaking to current and future community members. (All these ideas really challenged us to think about what community means!) 𝗢𝗡𝗘: A sense of community needs to be cultivated. Community is a combination of "who" and "what". A famous person has followers, not a community if he doesn't engage or inspire. 𝗧𝗪𝗢: Continuity is important, but not when imposed. Any form of continuity for a community needs to be carefully designed. With clear objectives and intentions. Otherwise, there is too little motivation for re-engagement 𝗧𝗛𝗥𝗘𝗘: Specificity wins. We will continue to meet people at different stages of their personal journeys. As we go along, there will be a higher necessity for specificity in order to meet needs. Once again, it goes back to community design. ++ It's with these ideas that we are designing phase 2 of Our Curiosity Collective. We will continue leaning in to our goal - to design a community that allows people to play BIG in their lives. That doesn't change. A huge THANK YOU to everyone who took time out of our schedules to speak to us, and allow us to dream about what the next phase of the collective would look like. We have exciting updates coming up in August, so keep a lookout for that!

Creating an engaged community is not about one secret ingredient, but rather a secret (or not so secret) sauce. Here’s what I've learned so far about leading he Women In Product Austin community: 1. Quality over quantity: We believe that community size should not be the top metric. Instead, we focus on creating spaces and events where the community can learn from each other and support each other. Our goal is not a growing community but a thriving one. 2. Consistency is the key. Whether a community meets online or in-person having some regular and predictable engagement schedule allows people to know when they can engage. In Austin, we meet in-person at least once a month, and plan for two happy hour events and one speaker event every quarter. Our community is so engaged that members suggest additional events and programming, and are willing to step up to help with those. So, we end up running additional events on top of the “once a month” commitment we've made. 3. Set clear intentions: Elly Reed and I identified three principles when we restarted WIP Austin meetups last year. We ensure that we're leading with these principles and ask the community to do the same when attending community events. We ask people to leave egos and competitiveness behind; foster generosity, helpfulness, curiosity, and connection.

I thought I would take a moment to share my thoughts on why community is so important for a start-up.   Businesses rely on their customers and by putting our community first, I've seen how we can harness the power of the customer for more sustainable growth:   ❤️ Retention: you can develop stronger brand loyalty through regular content & events with a clear feedback loop ❤️ Brand love: create a network of brand ambassadors who want to talk about what you have to share ❤️ Innovation: who better to learn from than those who are already your loyal supporters ❤️ Experience: as the saying goes "people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel"   How do we then attribute the importance of community into quarterly budgets when success isn't as easy to measure as units sold?

Hello, LinkedIn world! First-time poster, a long-time imposter here. 👋🏼 Though lately, I feel like using my acting degree to 'fake it 'til I make it' might have led me to something more genuine than I expected. I'm starting to feel qualified to call this work my own. And what better place to share the ups and downs of that journey than LinkedIn, right? Isn't that what real adults do? So, here's my "news" – which isn't really "new" at all. It's more like a culmination of a wild and winding post-2020 journey of self-discovery. Like many of us, I dove headfirst into introspection (and maybe a mini-life crisis?) for the past four years. But what has emerged is a clearer, bolder understanding of my passion: bringing ideas to life and helping them connect with the world. From stage characters to self-advocates to mission-driven organizations, my whole life has been about amplifying voices and stories. And somewhere along the way, I discovered that I might actually be good at it. That winding road led me to explore new skills like web design, copywriting, and marketing. It also brought me incredible opportunities to collaborate with some of the most brilliant women I know, all dedicated to making a positive impact. Now, with my foundation firmly in place, I'm excited to share my skills and passion even further. If we're connected here, chances are you're also a creative force for good.
