"Printemps (Spring)" was presented in 1930 at Tamara de Lempicka’s first solo exhibition in Paris at the Galerie Colette Weil. The pristine, almost airbrushed, finish of this painting is so smooth that it looks like enamel, offset by the way Lempicka fills the composition with the subjects embrace and lush bouquet of white lilacs. While at the Galerie Colette Weil show, renowned critic André Warnod noticed these elements and wrote in his review, “[Lempicka's] art is not cold despite its precision. Her portraits are alive and even hallucinatory. Sometimes it seems as if her painted characters are about to step out of the frame.” Don't miss out on seeing our stunning "Tamara de Lempicka" exhibition before it closes next weekend, February 9, 2025 ✨ [Tamara de Lempicka, "Printemps (Spring)," 1928. © 2024 Tamara de Lempicka Estate, LLC / ADAGP, Paris / ARS, NY]

Light Terminates Captivity And Ushers In True Authority | Seed Gallery This preparatory drawing for Nya’s painting “Blueprint of Grace,” reveals how the ingress of light terminates the tenure of darkness. As alluded to in the drawing by the tripartite silhouette of a human torso whose translation from darkness to light is emanating from The Word in red implanted within it, every human being was created by, for and through The Word of Light. Furthermore, everything on earth submits and surrenders to the authority and power of the Word of Light. Simply put, light is the preternatural power of the Creator to restore, rejuvenate, revive, reinvigorate, resuscitate, redeem, reconcile and recreate the spirit, soul and body of Man. This print was produced on the occasion of “A true leader redeems time” a book that employs x-rays from Nya’s work, “Heir of Inheritance,” to discourse the impartiality, incorruptibility and universal nature of light. 🎨 **Spotlight on a Masterpiece: "The Night Watch" by Rembrandt van Rijn** Today, let's marvel at one of the crowning jewels of the Golden Age of Dutch painting, "The Night Watch" (1642). This formidable piece by Rembrandt is not just a portrait; it's a vivid historical narrative captured in oil on canvas. Its formal title, "Militia Company of District II under the Command of Captain Frans Banninck Cocq," seldom does justice to the dynamic energy and intricacy Rembrandt infused into this artwork. Initially commissioned by Captain Cocq and seventeen of his militiamen, **The Night Watch** is revolutionary in its departure from static militia portraits of the time. Rembrandt's genius lies in his dramatic use of chiaroscuro and his ability to animate his subjects in a sweeping, almost cinematic composition. The figures are caught mid-motion, with a young girl in the background shimmering in an almost spectral light, leading to endless interpretations about her symbolism. This painting was not without its controversies. Its drastic cropping in 1715 to fit between two doors at Amsterdam's Town Hall sparked debates about the preservation of art. Moreover, the innovative style of portraying the subjects angered the commissioners who expected a more traditional, static representation. They felt overshadowed by the vibrancy of the others, leading to dissatisfaction with how they were depicted. Despite these challenges, Rembrandt's "The Night Watch" endures as an emblem of artistic bravery and narrative depth, making it a pivotal study in art history. #ArtHistory #Rembrandt #TheNightWatch #DutchGoldenAge #Baroque #Chiaroscuro #MuseumArt #ClassicArt #ArtLovers #HistoricalArt #Amsterdam #Rijksmuseum #ArtConservation #Masterpiece #OilPainting #17thCenturyArt #ArtEducation #ArtisticVision #CinematicArt #DramaticLighting #RembrandtVanRijn #PaintingAnalysis #ArtControversy #ArtDiscussion #VisualNarrative #Artworld #ArtEnthusiast #CultureVulture

My recent article on Art & Perception focuses on one iconic masterpiece by the Belgian Surrealist, Rene Magritte: "La Condition Humaine" (1933). The painting is an aesthetic-philosophical study of the nature of reality, the localization of thought, achieved via the artist's masterful creation of perceptual paradoxes where transparency battles with opacity, and objects occlude what they reveal. The painting is both beautiful and endlessly engaging perceptuall, aesthetically, philosophically.

Vincent van Gogh's painting "Skull of a Skeleton with Burning Cigarette" is one of his lesser-known works, created in 1886. This piece stands out for its unusual subject matter and dark humor, reflecting a departure from his more typical landscapes and portraits. Learn more on our blog! https://lnkd.in/gqPjnVxz

Looking for an Unknown Painting by Gustav Klimt. If You Have One, We Would Like to Hear from You This year, the art world was stunned by the discovery of a long-lost painting by Austrian master Gustav Klimt, missing for nearly 100 years and found in Vienna. Titled Portrait of Fraulein Lieser, the artwork once belonged to a Jewish family and was last seen in public in 1925. This incredible find serves as a powerful reminder that valuable works of art, whether masterpieces or lesser-known pieces, can still be hiding in plain sight—perhaps even in your own home. Art discoveries happen more often than you might think, and owning a piece by a master like Gustav Klimt is not as far-fetched as it may seem. Many assume that discovering or inheriting a work by an important artist is unlikely, but history tells us otherwise. World War II, in particular, scattered countless artworks across Europe. Some were stolen or hidden away, while others were forgotten as families fled or were displaced. Many of these artworks remain out of public view, lying in private collections, attics, or inherited without full knowledge of their true value. You may already possess a valuable piece of art history without even knowing it. Every work by Klimt, no matter its scale or prominence, is significant and can offer insight into the artist’s legacy. If you believe you could be holding the key to the next major art discovery, we want to hear from you! Soul’s Journey It was represented @m.a.d.s.artgallery Hysterica International Exhibition 2021 Art Curator Martina Lattuca critical review of my art work & more information of current exhibition can be found here: https://lnkd.in/g_SAniR3 It is best to see abstract art in person to truly get the full effect. This will help you immeasurably with understanding abstract art. In person, you can see up close the texture, size, stroke of the paintbrush, shine or matte of the surface. You can feel the strength of the painting from across the room. Size: 50x60cm 1.6cm thickness Technique: mixed media: texture materials, gesso, acrylics, chalk Currently in Private Collection * Description Inspired by Kazimir Malevich who underwent such an initiatory experience as he came to the Suprematist vision, he felt “a kind of timidity bordering on fear when I was called upon to leave ‘the world of will and idea’ in which I had lived and worked and in the reality of which I had believed. <…>. If all artists could see the crossroads of these celestial paths, if they could comprehend these monstrous runways and the weaving of our bodies with the clouds in the sky, then they would not paint chrysanthemums.” This resonates personal experience during Pandemic reflecting frequently a similar feeling of profound fear and ability to open wider doors to consciousness and subconscious mind. This feeling of fear is subsequently overcome by the idyllic sensation of creating black “Soul’s Journey” painting on white canvas by using Suprematism conception on quadrilateral canvas. #abstractart #texturedart #suprematism #womenartists #davinadugnas

Born on an 28th of October, the British painter Francis Bacon has painted one of the most expensive artworks in the world sold in November 2013 for US$142.4 million. The price of "Three Studies of Lucian Freud" is a combination of several factors like: 1. Historical Significance: Painted in 1969, it captures the complex relationship between Bacon and his friend, Lucian Freud, who was also an influential artist. The piece represents a rare moment where two iconic figures in 20th-century art are symbolically intertwined, which enhances its historical weight. 2. Artistic Mastery: Bacon’s unique style of expressing raw human emotion through distorted yet vivid figures is widely celebrated. The triptych format, where each of the three panels creates a continuous narrative, demonstrates Bacon's mastery in portraiture and adds complexity, making it both unique and highly valuable. 3. Rarity: This piece is one of the few large-scale triptychs from Bacon that remain in private hands. Since most of his major works are held by museums and unlikely to be sold, collectors are willing to pay a premium for the rare chance to own a piece of his legacy. 4. Provenance and Market Demand: The art market is driven by demand from wealthy collectors who view these masterpieces as investments. When "Three Studies of Lucian Freud" sold for $142.4 million in 2013, it was a record-breaking moment. The sale reflected not only its artistic value but also the prestige associated with owning a Bacon work. 5. Emotional Appeal: Bacon's works, especially his portraits, are highly emotive and speak to universal themes of existentialism and human suffering, resonating with audiences deeply. This connection adds immeasurable intrinsic value to his works. Combined, all these factors make the painting a unique asset reflecting in the pricetag of this painting. #artwork #art #220dots #October28 #FrancisBacon #LucianFreud #ArtInvestment #ArtMarket #LuxuryInvestments #ModernArt #ContemporaryArt #ArtCollectors #ArtInvesting #FineArt #PostWarArt #ArtMasterpieces #MuseumQualityArt #ArtHistory #ArtAuction #BlueChipArt #Expressionism #ArtPatronage
