Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco’s Post

"Printemps (Spring)" was presented in 1930 at Tamara de Lempicka’s first solo exhibition in Paris at the Galerie Colette Weil. The pristine, almost airbrushed, finish of this painting is so smooth that it looks like enamel, offset by the way Lempicka fills the composition with the subjects embrace and lush bouquet of white lilacs. While at the Galerie Colette Weil show, renowned critic André Warnod noticed these elements and wrote in his review, “[Lempicka's] art is not cold despite its precision. Her portraits are alive and even hallucinatory. Sometimes it seems as if her painted characters are about to step out of the frame.” Don't miss out on seeing our stunning "Tamara de Lempicka" exhibition before it closes next weekend, February 9, 2025 ✨ [Tamara de Lempicka, "Printemps (Spring)," 1928. © 2024 Tamara de Lempicka Estate, LLC / ADAGP, Paris / ARS, NY]

If you're within 60 miles of SF, come see this exhibit. FAMSF simultaneously also had a great Mary Cassat exhibit at its other museum. Both museums are set in beautiful parks with walking trails
