How has Russia's invasion of Ukraine reshaped the EU's Eastern neighbourhood policy and has the new policy affected the strategies of the Eastern Partnership (EaP) countries? 🔍 In their new article published on Policy Studies, FIIA's Ryhor Nizhnikau and Arkady Moshes from the Institute's Russia, the EU’s Eastern Neighbourhood and Eurasia research programme examine the policy responses to the war of the EU and the countries of the EU-Russia contested neighbourhood. They specifically highlight the shifts in two key attributes of the EU's foreign policy, which have traditionally defined its neighbourhood policy: its relations with Russia and the inclusiveness of the EaP countries in the European project. What to expect after the recently organized Global Peace Summit in Switzerland? Can the second one be more challenging for Ukraine and why? Completely forgotten to share this lively conversation upon invitation from Angela Gramada, where both me and Khrystyna Zelenyuk, foreign policy journalist from Kyiv, were talking about interests of different states involved in attempts to find a solution to ongoing Russia’s aggression against Ukraine and about recent Global Peace Summit in particular. Via Chathamhouse: Orban’s Ukraine gamble is a blow to the EU’s geopolitical ambitions The EU must tackle the challenge of rogue member states to fulfil its potential as a geostrategic actor. There are three main takeaways from the summit. First, while enlargement is a geostrategic instrument, EU institutions and member states have yet to develop the necessary techniques to deploy it without jeopardizing normative coherence. Second, European unity remains brittle, vulnerable to both internal and external challenges. Third, the EU can no longer ignore the problem of rogue member states and must deal with this challenge as a matter of both urgency and principle – coffee breaks will not suffice. https://lnkd.in/eGTDBxHi

The organization of domestic and international “peace movements” by Hungarian state and non-state actors marks a new and troubling development in international politics, with far-reaching and lasting implications for both European stability and Ukraine’s potential success in the war. Drawing on regional research, our article details how the Kremlin’s recalibration of far-right and far-left influence networks across Europe under the guise of “peace” has become a powerful political and communication tool, aimed at undermining Western unity in support of Ukraine and fueling “Ukraine fatigue” among European populations. What is happening with North America all makes sense to me now... I see the bigger picture , besides the obvious betrayal of dual citizen leaders in US government. Between this 3SI axis power (reminiscent of the Pale of Settlement. migration after WW1 and the cause of WW2 - see map )and the Biblical Greater Israel project ( see map ) to control the ports and trade routes from Africa and the Arabian Sea the only thing standing in the way of total control of the world economy and food distribution just as Henry Kissinger predicted, indeed, planned ,is... Turkey. Either they submit and capitulate to 3SI & GIP , or if I was a military logistician I would start WW3 with simultaneous strikes in Istanbul , Izmir , Bursa and Ankara once Syria is subjugated and Iran on my right flank a smoldering ruin. I no longer wonder and question,Why ? the American people contribute Hundreds of Billions of the wealth of their nation to their own impoverishment and continuing ruin every year to the Ukraine and Greater Israel, they are linchpins, Ukraine to Isolate Russia from the Black Sea and Greater Israel to Isolate Africa and the ASEAN Union . With both positioned to a pincer movement with NATO to dominate Turkey and the Mediterranean sea to the straights of Gibraltar, completely isolating Russia from the west. In other words, Americans are being sacrificed for building an Empire they have no part of while turning the West Coast/South Coast of the US into a weak and exposed ,inviting means of migration just as happened after WW1 to Europe......Which brings to mind the haunting words of Israeli Prime Minister ,Benjamin Netanyahu; “Once we squeeze all we can out of the United States, it can dry up and blow away.” Now I know why he said it . https://lnkd.in/gBxaDeND

🗣️#NewPublication📚 The latest in our #TEPSAbriefs series 👉 Mathilde Tomine Eriksdatter Giske (University of Oslo & Norwegian Institute of International Affairs (NUPI)) analyses the limits and opportunities of current enlargement policies for the Eastern candidates ➡️ https://lnkd.in/eCJRegvn "The decision by Ukraine, Moldova and Georgia to apply for European Union (EU) membership following the Russian invasion of Ukraine, resulted in the Union providing all three states the status of candidates. The question then is how the accession of these states is to be achieved, and what the limits and opportunities of the EU enlargement policy are."

Maintaining a balance between governmental intervention and free-market principles is imperative for Ukraine's post-war economic recovery. Debt relief, strategic partnerships, and transparent governance systems are essential for the reconstruction of infrastructure and the support of refugees. Emphasising technological advancement, industrial policy, and European Union integration is crucial for sustainable, long-term growth. Continued support from Western allies is fundamental for ensuring security and a prosperous future. https://lnkd.in/eAXcgx_E #Ukraine #EconomicRecovery #FutureProspects
