This!
This is a perfect example of what I spoke to earlier this week, and I couldn't not share when I saw it this morning. The story of Jessica Rioux is a paragon of dedication and loyalty, and she is an exemplary professional with more knowledge than most who are actively in management and human resources departments (IMHO).
Jessica started her career as a receptionist, and I would suggest she is way more than what her current title reflects. Her unwavering commitment and hands-on approach are what had her rising through the ranks. She embodies the very essence of growth and adaptability. And today, she stands as a testament to what dedication and continuous learning can achieve.
You want to know what truly sets Jessica apart, though? Her story. We all have them. My favorite kind of inspiration are the stories, the achievements, the examples of others. Jessica has many, I am sure, but my favorite... Five years ago, as a single working mother, Jessica demonstrated extraordinary determination by pursuing and obtaining her BBA in Business Management & Human Resources - this is no small feat. And, mind you, I needed a little of that inspiration when I was first deciding whether or not I should go back to school.
The hands-on experience she has collected over the last decade provides her with a unique perspective, enabling her to understand and address the nuances of workplace dynamics effectively. That experience makes her invaluable, her person
Jessica mentions that Helen Keller once said, "Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much." She, and many whose titles don't accurately reflect their contributions to their company, is/are a living embodiment of this philosophy, proving that collective efforts, guided by knowledgeable and dedicated individuals, lead to unparalleled success.
Happy 10 years, Jessica, that Southern office is lucky to have you.

Just over nine years ago, I accepted the position as receptionist at STEBBINS ENGINEERING. Much to my surprise, God had big plans to expand my horizons in the professional realm.
Leaving the school system as a para professional, I had no clue the journey I would soon embark on.
After eleven months at STEBBINS, I was offered the role of billing assistant. I accepted the role and embraced it with an open mind.
Eleven months later I was asked to take on the role of Southern Operations Coordinator.
Although I knew I desired growth, I was quite nervous. However, I pushed through the nervousness and embraced the challenge. It’s safe to say, I had no clue the depth of that challenge at the time. Yet, I persevered.
Thankfully, many patient leaders took me under their wings and taught me about the role.
My position as coordinator opened many doors of growth for me. It also opened my eyes to a whole new world that I hadn’t yet experienced.
In 2018, I visited a jobsite for the first time in Fernandina Beach, FL. (Picture below) I was so proud to go out and see what I had a small part of bringing to fruition. To be a part of “the crew” for a few days gave me such a sense of pride.
Today, after coordinating for seven years, I can honestly say that I have so much respect for the people in this industry. Being a part of it has afforded me the opportunity to meet many great people and appreciate the skill set of each individual.
As I move toward my tenth year, I look forward to learning and growing much more with our team.
“Alone we can do so little. Together we can do so much.” – Helen Keller

"Cliff was hired last year as a salesman in our Lonestar Region in Texas. He goes above and beyond the role of salesman, doing QC on jobs, and hopping in a mixer when needed. It seems like almost every day Cliff is calling with news of another big job he got for us, and we had to add mixers and drivers to keep up with all the work he gained us. He always has a positive can-do attitude and is a huge part of our future growth in Texas. Thank you, Cliff, for all you do."

This is what makes me the happiest when I see messages like this.
Donna has worked for her last company for a long time, which can be challenging when looking for a new opportunity.
-You suddenly haven't got an up-to-date CV;
- Everyones told your you're meant to be on Linkedin but haven't touched it in years.
This is how the process worked for anyone interested
-First of all, we jumped on a team call so I could understand Donna's background and what she was looking to do next.
- Donna sent me her current CV, which she admitted needed some work as it was internal.
- I created my first draft and ensured it was specific to what Donna wanted to apply for.
-We then joined another team's call to work through it together and critique it. This is a two-way process, and even when I'm on that call, I have new ideas for improving it.
-Once we were happy with the CV, I updated her LinkedIn profile to ensure it represented her best work and that she was proud of it.
-I also shared some LinkedIn tips with Donna on how she can use the platform to elevate her brand.
- We then jump on a final call to ensure everything is 100%.
- Donna starts applying for jobs with her new CV, feeling more confident.
- Donna lands a new role
I wanted to write this because I offer much more than a write-your-CV service.

I also want to recognize that navigating the space between opportunities can be both daunting and empowering. During my brief interim between roles, I took the time to reflect, recharge, and refocus my career goals by:
🏞️ Exploring the Great Outdoors: My family and I traveled to Acadia National Park to disconnect from the noise and reconnect with each other and nature.
👨👩👧👦 Connecting with Loved Ones: We visited family across Texas and Oklahoma that we hadn’t seen in years, recharging our souls and reminding us of what truly matters in life.
💼 Strategizing My Next Move: I engaged in deep, strategic conversations with my network and explored prospective opportunities to determine how I want to be supported and challenged next in my career which helped me dial into the perfect opportunity.
🧭 Realigning My Mindset: Every day, I consciously reminded myself of my value and intentionally chose to be grateful for the experiences that have prepared me to level up to this new role.
This post wouldn’t be complete without expressing my immense gratitude to my previous directors and heads of partnerships—Aidan Weinrib (she/her), Kelsey Kearns, Charlotte Z., Brittney Heaphy, and many others—who always recognized my value and supported me along the way. 🙏
🤔 What’s one piece of advice you would give to someone currently in the midst of their career transition?
Advocating for Living Benefits, specializing in tax-free retirement plans, and providing guaranteed lifetime income solutions. Helping you secure a prosperous and worry-free future!
Financial Freedom, Time Freedom, Personal Freedom—We all want these in our lives, but here's the catch: Achieving one often comes at the expense of the other two.
💰 Financial Freedom: Many people chase financial success, but it often means sacrificing time with loved ones or compromising personal passions and values. The grind for wealth can lead to burnout and lost moments you can’t get back.
⏰ Time Freedom: Others prioritize time freedom, perhaps by working fewer hours or pursuing a lifestyle business. But without financial security, the freedom to enjoy that time fully can be limited.
💡 Personal Freedom: Living authentically and following your passions is the ultimate dream, but it can be hard to achieve without the financial stability or time flexibility to make it sustainable.
The truth is, you shouldn’t have to choose. Imagine having all three freedoms—financial stability, control over your time, and the ability to live life on your own terms. It’s not just a dream—it’s possible.
