Did you know air ambulance missions are almost entirely funded by the generosity of local communities? Air ambulance charities receive no day-to-day Government funding! Air ambulances are facing an increase in dispatches to patients, together with the reality of being hit with fundraising challenges due to former lockdown implications and the cost-of living crisis. Air ambulance lifesaving services are not immune to the rise in costs of, for example, fuel and other necessary equipment such as medical monitors. In 2021, collectively, the UK’s air ambulances attended over 30,000 missions, and in 2023, over 46,000 missions, evidencing an approximate 53% increase. Moreover, the average cost of an air ambulance helicopter mission increased from £3,962 in 2021 to £4,110 in 2023, highlighting a 4% rise. In light of this, we are asking the next UK Government to act and to support the air ambulance community to acquire UK-wide grants and capital funding. This would help them to operate effectively with equitable service provision to continue to meet the growing demand and costs. ❗❗❗AEDs DO NOT LOOK AFTER THEMSELVES ❗❗❗ More must be done by those providing AEDs to make sure that they are always in working order for when needed most. In the last few years there has been incredible strides made in improving public knowledge and awareness around AEDs and cardiac arrest. Without the consistent quality of AEDs nationwide this will cost lives which could be saved and erode confidence. Unfortunately, there are many devices which are now in the public domain which do not have the appropriate support to make sure they work when needed most. ❗❗❗NOT ALL AEDs ARE THE SAME❗❗❗ There are many different types of AEDs available in the UK and trying to choose from a catalogue of different devices can be confusing and difficult. If you are looking to get an AED, here's a tip, always get an FDA-approved device. These have been through stringent testing to prove that they can perform to the levels that they claim. ❗❗❗DON'T LET YOUR DEVICE BECOME AN ORNAMENT❗❗❗ Defib Machines have never had a device not work when needed. This is not by accident. We only provide the best devices. All our devices come with full service and maintenance cover. With regular on site visits to check your AED and provide training and refresher training we make sure that the device is always in working order with people who feel confident in how to save a life. If a device is ever used, we will replace it within 24 hours, at no cost. Guys there must be Some Engineers out there. Idea Innovation, 💡 had Light Bulb 💡 Saving Lives is Critical. I did Donations of Whole Blood an Platelets over 30years reaching 170Credits. I can't donate 😪 now for Health reasons. For a Patient Time is Critical. It's not about Minutes it's Seconds into Minutes for the Patient. The Country needs to get on this.

Have you ever wondered how air ambulance charities decide on which vehicle to dispatch? 🚁🚗 The Emergency Assistants make the choice in the control room after considering a number of variables, such as the incident's location and the crew's whereabouts. The primary objective is to swiftly deploy doctors and paramedics to the patient's location, and at times, a critical care car is more a more appropriate for rapid response, especially in congested urban areas where landing a helicopter might pose challenges.
