What initially drew me to join Lockheed Martin after college was my deep-seated passion for flight. As a pilot myself, I was captivated by the opportunity to delve into the intricacies of aircraft design and manufacturing. The aerospace industry has always been my calling, and being part of Lockheed Martin allows me to merge my personal and professional passions seamlessly. The pride I feel seeing an F-35 on the production line or a C-5 take off is unparalleled, knowing that my team plays a pivotal role in bringing these feats of engineering to life. Over the years, the array of exciting programs I've been involved in has exceeded my wildest expectations, and I eagerly anticipate the innovations of tomorrow. One aspect of my professional growth and development within the company that has been particularly impactful is the support I've received through mentoring relationships. Whether through formal mentorship programs or informal connections, my mentors have provided invaluable perspective, feedback and guidance, propelling me forward in my career journey. Inspired by their mentorship, I am committed to paying it forward by mentoring others, both individually and in small groups. The exchange of skills and perspectives between myself and my mentees has been enriching and transformative, reinforcing the importance of mentorship in fostering personal and professional growth. Maintaining a work-life balance while pursuing my career goals at Lockheed Martin is essential to my overall well-being and success. As a lifelong athlete, I prioritize staying active and recognize the profound mental and physical benefits it offers. Balancing family, health and work is a continuous process that requires deliberate choices and adjustments. I make it a point to allocate time for team meetings, mentoring sessions and, of course, my workouts, ensuring that I am investing my time in what truly matters to me. As I reflect on my journey, I encourage you to ask yourself: are you spending your time on what matters most to you? Join me in celebrating the journey of women in aeronautics and the boundless opportunities that lie ahead. Together, we can soar to new heights and inspire the next generation of aerospace trailblazers! #WomenInAeronautics #LockheedMartin #Mentorship #WorkLifeBalance #ProfessionalGrowth #AerospaceIndustry

I have an amazing intern Jason and wanted to share what we've been up to: Jason and I are deep into computer vision model training so that our autonomous sailing vessel can create its own spatial awareness and call its routing algorithms to avoid collisions. And do so within cost effective, inexpensive constraints. Here's a short code review! So much learning and so much fun. Great program Veterans to Energy Careers and shout out to Moses Maddox, Eric Hahn, and Naval Postgraduate School.

Mentoring and encouraging young, aspiring aviators is crucial to helping them overcome the challenges they may face on their path to becoming a pilot. The aviation industry can sometimes feel daunting, especially for those with limited access to resources or who may not see many role models who look like them. By providing guidance, support, and inspiration, mentors can help young aviators build confidence, navigate the complexities of flight training, and stay motivated through the inevitable setbacks. Encouragement from experienced pilots also helps young people understand that their dreams are achievable, no matter their background or circumstances. By investing in the next generation, we not only nurture talent but also ensure a diverse and skilled workforce in aviation, inspiring future leaders to take flight and contribute to the industry’s growth. - Danielle

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐌𝐚𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐤 𝐌𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐬𝐞𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐓𝐞𝐚𝐦𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤!!! Over this weekend, I re-watched an all time favourite, '𝐓𝐨𝐩 𝐆𝐮𝐧: 𝐌𝐚𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐤'. Capt. Pete Mitchell (Maverick) is appointed to train a group of elite #TOPGUN graduates to prepare for a high-profile mission. The first brief to the best of the best marine aviators is, "What I want to see is teamwork. Each one of you represents the best of the best. But together, you're better". Despite numerous aviation trainings, the Captain is unable to bring the aviators to work as a well-functioning and efficient team. He then engages the aviators in a game of dogfight football, which gives him, his #TEAM! Yes, it's just a movie but it does drive a noteworthy point that teamwork is an imperative in every field. A common word in corporate parlance but is an under rated one. It is often understood as an unsaid value in organisations, yet it remains sidelined in the priority list of similar corporate values. #Teamwork has to be built into organisations as a culture. A culture that should simply exist at all levels in the organisation, whether within or across departments. When it is accepted as the culture, there is no need to ensure conscious practice of it. It just becomes a commonplace practice. It flows across the organisation, building the whole company as a team. Teamwork, with itself, brings out other humanly qualities too, in each of us. Be it #loyalty, #sincerity, #empathy and many times one step ahead in building #friendships, which go a long way with you across your professional careers. Teamwork drives your passionate self and ultimately aligns yours and the organisation's goals. It may require an initial effort, especially from the management but, it is one of those core values which trickles down soon, creating the team each one wants to be a part of! #Thoughtsthatmatter #SundayAfternoonThoughts #teambuilding #DreamTeam #RSwrites

Did you know SUBLIMITY got its start by building sustainer programs, like Mission Aviation Fellowship's Flight Crew? Using human-centered insights from the intended audience, we were able to put together several program concepts through co-creation with MAF. We then took those ideas back to the audience to track down which would be most resonant, meaningful and exciting to participate in. The results were tremendous and Flight Crew continues to perform strong year-over-year. We showcase MAF's Flight Crew in our Sustainer Program Checklist downloadable because they took each part of the development process to heart and created something truly remarkable. Download the checklist at the link in comments!
