The HRC equity index is a great way to mindfully support pro-LGBTQIA+ companies. It's updated annually, which helps to hold companies accountable as well. While there's no such thing as 100% ethical spending in capitalism, some little adjustments can be impactful in supporting equity.

“Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s Corporate Equality Index is the national benchmarking tool on corporate policies, practices and benefits pertinent to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer employees.” I learned about the Corporate Equality Index last year during a meeting with HRC and was so impressed with their vetting of not only their own partners but with companies at a greater scale. This report is worth a look….and then it’s worth bookmarking. Is your employer in it? Is the company you’re interviewing with in it? Partners? Hello Jeff- in your post below, you talk about #sustainability, #diversity, #inclusion etc but nothing about #accessibility. #Airbus keeps on manufacturing and I presume refurbishing inaccessible #aircraft! In a statement provided to me on behalf of your #CEO Guillaume Faury ( https://lnkd.in/eAuf64YB ) he said the company is working on better accessibility but he and your PR team will not give a timeline for this? Can that be so difficult to do? The annual Human Rights Campaign Foundation's Corporate Equality Index evaluates U.S. based companies that opt into the survey on their policies for #LGBTQ+ equality. When the index first began in 2002, only 13 companies earned the highest score - this year, >800 earned at least 90 of the 100 possible points. “Companies are not backing down from diversity, equity, inclusion, instead, they’re stepping up because they know that it’s good for their bottom line and good for their business,” Human Rights Campaign President Kelley Robinson said. “Employees are 4½-times more likely to want to work for companies that are standing with the LGBTQ+ community." The 2023 survey results arrive amidst increased challenges for the LGBTQ+ community, but do provide at least some hope that there are bright spots in company cultures that provide a truly inclusive work environment.
