🚀 Thrilled to shed some light on a topic that's close to my heart: Top non-IIM Indian B-Schools and their global reputation! When it comes to top-notch business education, IIMs usually steal the show. But let's not forget the extraordinary impact non-IIM Indian B-Schools are making worldwide. 🌏 What do you think you need to attend a prestigious B-School? - Must be an IIM - Only IIMs have strong alumni networks - Opportunity for global exposure is less - Limited corporate connections What you actually need to know is: - Institutes like XLRI, ISB, and SPJIMR offer stellar programs. - MDI Gurgaon and FMS Delhi are well-regarded for their strong curriculum. - These schools boast robust global alumni networks and partnerships with international universities. - Admissions at these institutions are holistic and not just number-driven, focusing on a combination of skills and experiences. That’s it! Nothing else. These non-IIM B-Schools are proving that excellence doesn't have a single address. India's B-School ecosystem is richer and more diverse than you might think. 🎓 Open your minds and explore the multitude of opportunities they offer #NonIIMBschools #IndianBSchools #XLRI #ISB #SPJIMR #MDIGurgaon #FMSDelhi #GlobalAlumniNetworks #BusinessEducation

IIM Sirmaur MBA'25 | Strategy@Digit | Training and Development cell | TEDxIIMSirmaur | CAT22 97.69 | XAT23 98.85
Turning Setbacks into Success: My CAT Preparation Journey and the IIM dream When I set my sights on cracking the CAT, I knew it wouldn't be easy. As an average student, I had always faced academic challenges, but this time, I had a clear goal. Sleepless nights, relentless hard work, and an unwavering determination became my companions as I prepared for CAT 2022. Despite my efforts, being a GEM (General, Engineer, Male) fresher presented its own set of hurdles. I managed to achieve a 97.69 percentile in CAT and 98.85 percentile in XAT. However, my dream of getting into one of the top B-schools seemed to slip away as I faced rejections and waitlists. When I received my only offer from IIM Sirmaur that too in the 3rd list, I couldn't help but feel a pang of disappointment. After all that hard work, it felt like my dreams were still out of reach. But here's the truth: sometimes, what seems like a setback is actually a setup for something greater. As I now reflect on my first year at IIM Sirmaur, I realize how much this journey has transformed me. The experiences, the learning environment, the peers, and the challenges have all played a pivotal role in shaping me into a better version of myself. IIM Sirmaur has been more than just a B-school; it has been a place of growth, resilience, and unexpected opportunities. It has taught me that success isn't just about the destination but also about the journey and the growth that comes along with it. For those of you who took CAT 2023 and didn't make it to your dream B-school, remember this: every experience has its own value. Sometimes, not getting what you want can be a blessing in disguise. Keep pushing forward, embrace the journey, and trust that you are exactly where you need to be. Attaching a picture of my whiteboard, where I used to track my B-school calls and waitlists, as a reminder that persistence pays off, even if the path isn't what you initially envisioned. Stay motivated, stay resilient, and keep striving for excellence. #CATJourney #MBA #IIMSirmaur #Resilience #HardWork #Motivation #BschoolDreams

I was dejected when I didn't get into the IIM's. Dejected would be a mild word, I was actually devasted. I had been preparing hard for the CAT exam for almost 15 months, giving countless practice exams, utilizing any time I could get from college to open the practice books, only for that prestigious tag of IIM. With 98.3 percentile in CAT, I was skeptical if that would be enough to get a call from any of the IIM's. Unfortunately that wasn't the case, and I was left cursing the reservation system. Over the years that resentment has died down. I did not get that kind of headstart which I would have gotten with IIM, but I have realized that how one shapes their life post those 2 years matters the most, and more than a decade later it almost has negligible impact on how my life would have been with IIM. Looking back, I realize that the IIM dream, while powerful, was just one path. Life has a way of unfolding, and success is built on continuous learning, hard work, and seizing opportunities, regardless of the initial setbacks. I don't know how my life would have been had I graduated from IIM, but I don't think it would have been any more different. #Motivation #Marketing #CareerJourney

𝐈𝐈𝐌 𝐯𝐬. 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐌𝐢𝐝𝐝𝐥𝐞 𝐂𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐬: 𝐀 𝐁𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐥𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐖𝐢𝐭𝐬 IIMs: The dream destination for many middle-class Indian families. It’s where aspirations soar, and parents’ hopes of seeing “IIM” next to their child’s name become the ultimate middle-class bragging rights. But let’s be honest getting into an IIM feels like trying to win a lottery, except the ticket is years of relentless studying, sleepless nights, and a few hundred cups of coffee. For the middle class, cracking the IIM code is like preparing for an Olympic event. Coaching classes? Check. Study material that could double as a doorstop? Check. The constant reminder that “Sharma ji’s son” already got in? Double check. But the journey doesn’t end at admission. Once you’re in, it’s about surviving the rigorous schedules, acing the placements, and proving that all those sacrifices were worth it. And for parents, it’s about finally being able to say, “Mera beta IIM se hai!” at every family gathering. What’s your IIM story? #IIM #MiddleClass #IndianEducation #Humor #DreamsAndSacrifices

IIM Kashipur'26 | Executive Member at On Your Mark | Former Marketer at LabSmart and LawBhoomi | University of Lucknow
Deadlines are sacrosanct!!!! This is what we have been taught at IIM Kashipur during the last two weeks. The past two weeks at Indian Institute of Management Kashipur have been nothing short of rigorous, marked by relentless deadlines, late-night group tasks, and an avalanche of assignments. Despite the academic pressures, the experience has been profoundly enriching. The camaraderie among batchmates has been a crucial support system. Amid the hustle and bustle, moments of respite and fun have been a stress buster for all of us. Various activities organized on campus have provided us with a welcome break from the grind. These events not only offer relaxation but also serve as platforms for building stronger bonds with the batchmates. Sleep, once a non-negotiable luxury, has become a rare commodity. Averaging 3-4 hours of sleep per night has become the norm which is a testament to the demanding nature of an MBA. In essence, the past fortnight at IIM Kashipur has been a roller coaster ride, filled with invaluable lessons and countless unforgettable moments making it all worth it! #iim #bschool #mba #cat2024 #management

What do you think when you come accross the thought of getting an IIM? Reflecting upon the very soon completion of first year here Indian Institute of Management, Sirmaur, with the coming days of IIM calls to the juniors, and in the hassle of the series of selection processes of the top B-schools. I congratulate to them whk got this far, and want ti convey that YOU DIDN’T COME THIS FAR TO ONLY COME THIS FAR. The real rigor starts here, the sleepless nights of preparing for your dream college is only the beginning. Now starts the hard work for getting into them and stepping towards your dream life. MBA is a life lesson, that makes you resilient, confident and super hard working. First year here at IIM Sirmaur taught me to be consistent. Be consistent about your goals, be consistent about your actions, be consistent about your thoughts and most importantly be consistent about the answer of why your are here if you are here. I invite you all to be more curious about this life in a B-school, the enthusiasm, energy and the positivity is not just the outcome. The anxiety, stupidity and nights filled woth thoughts of being the best are the constant reminders of you being here. The question is not just about how good you are to be here, rather the question is how better you are willing to become. I wholeheartedly welcome anybody who wants guidance for writing their SOP, Personal interview preparation and any other help you may need for the selection process. I wish all the very best ti everyone. #cat #iim #hardwork #mba #mbajourney

As I keep on mentioning in the sessions, getting into a #Bschool is just Phase 1 of your challenges. Even after you get into good B School, there are still a ton of challenges that you need to face... 1. Managing sleep 2. Hectic works schedule 3. #Midnight #assignments 3. #Case studies 4. Obviously managing attendance and grades because they are the most crucial aspect This recent incident at IIM #Ranchi seems to be making news but it has always been the norm. I know of several such students from my time at #IIM #Lucknow who are doing fabulous now. Don't be hasty in passing a #judgement on these students. Only the wearer knows where the shoe pinches. #cat #xat #nmat #snap #micat #mba #iima #iimb #iimc #fms #iimlucknow #iim #exam #career #management #cat2024 #bschool #business #corporatelife #corporate #education #linkedin #india #ExamPrep #StayPositive

The IIM Bangalore results for this year are out, bringing both joy and disappointment to many aspirants. We all know that success isn't always straightforward. It comes from hard work, perseverance, and, yes, luck/blessings have their part to play! I am certain that the preparation journey is a learning in itself filled with both small wins and setbacks. It is during this journey that we learn to adapt and evolve. Let's take a moment to appreciate this journey. Life doesn't always go in a straight line and there's always something to learn and opportunities ahead. Getting into your dream B-school is great, but it's just the beginning. To those heading to #ThePlaceToB, a warm welcome! To those who didn't make it this time, stay strong and don’t lose hope. Whether it's another attempt or a new path to pursue, endless opportunities are waiting. Take a moment to absorb the present, reflect on what went wrong, and return with renewed strength and confidence. If you need advice or just want to talk, feel free to reach out. Onwards and upwards! #cat #mba #iim #iimb #results #bschool #catexam #mbaentrance #iimbangalore

We sneaked into FMS. FMS was the neighbour of our college (Hansraj), so being an MBA aspirant it always fascinated me what it's like to be studying in one of the best MBA colleges in India and the college for which people even leave IIM ABC. We strolled through the halls, feeling like kids exploring every nook and cranny, though I feel that our college infrastructure is still a bit better than FMS (or maybe it can be that I have a soft corner for my college) but the vibe it gave me was something different. In the snapshot, I am sitting in one of the classrooms of FMS, strange that no one seemed to disturb us. A few profs gave us the once-over as they passed, but nobody bothered to interrupt. I don't know whether it's a norm not to interfere since it's PG program and they think we are now self understanding or just it's like 'who cares', either way it worked for us. Sitting there, picturing myself among those amazing folks, gave me serious goosebumps. Fast-forward to today, though I couldn't make it to FMS, i still managed to get into NMIMS, it has a different place in my heart (tell you about this on some other day) and definitely a great MBA college too. Dreams don't work unless you do! Work-hard 👊 #fms #NMIMS #mbadream #hansraj #mba
