In this vlog, we explore the fascinating world of peridot mineral exploration in the rough terrain and untapped glacier regions of Pakistan. Peridot, a beautiful green gemstone, is relatively rare and highly valued. It is often found in altered ultramafic rocks like dunites and serpentinites, specifically associated with clinochrysotile asbestos and other altered minerals in the Main Mantle Thrust Zone. This geological expedition takes us through challenging landscapes, highlighting the wealth and rarity of this gem. Join us as we uncover the natural beauty and geological significance of peridot in one of the most remote and pristine areas of Pakistan. https://lnkd.in/dYX-tdSR

Sandstone and breccia are two common sedimentary rocks that are formed from different geological processes and have distinct characteristics. Understanding the difference between sandstone and breccia is important for geologists and anyone interested in rocks and minerals. In this article, we will explore the differences between sandstone and breccia in detail. https://lnkd.in/evWFfcrS

Exciting insights from the recent RIU Explorers 2024 Conference held recently in Perth, Western Australia. If you missed the presentation on "Exploring Australia's Clay REE Deposits: From Snapshot to Challenges" by my colleague Nik Sergeev - here are some of the key takeaways shaping the future demand for Rare Earth Elements. -Navigating New Frontiers: The exploration models and knowledge base are relatively new to the industry, presenting a steep learning curve for geologists embarking on new projects. -Precision in Exploration: In the dynamic field, there's no clear guidance on whether higher grades signify a discovery or an insignificant anomaly. Precision is crucial for accurate project assessment. -Unravelling Clay-Hosted Mysteries: There's much to learn about clay-hosted REE mineralization, from their formation to critical controls and the right exploration approach. Ionic Adsorption Clay deposits only comprise 3.5% of total REE resources but account for greater than 80% of the world HREE resources! -Grade-Driven Exploration: Presently, exploration for clay-hosted deposits is driven by grades, often leading to accidental discoveries while exploring for other commodities or through the review of historical geochemical data! -Australia's Mineral Riches: Acknowledge Australia's potential for discovering substantial mineral resources, especially in clay-hosted REE mineralization. -Source Rock Identification: Emphasise the importance of studying magmatic system mineralogy and geochemistry to identify fertile source rocks. -Regolith Studies and Data Interpretation: Leverage regolith studies and geophysical data interpretation for identifying continuous blankets of residual clay regolith. -Geometallurgy Considerations: REE metallurgical recovery issues are extremely important for clay-hosted projects already at an exploration stage. Connect with Principal Technical Consultant Nik Sergeev, a seasoned expert at the forefront of navigating grassroots reconnaissance to brownfields and near-mine exploration. Nik specialises in exploration targeting, geochemistry, and spectral mineralogy and possesses extensive experience in both hard and regolith-type rare earth deposits. He has undertaken several successful projects in Australia, the USA, and Eastern Europe. Contact him today to embark on a journey towards successful and informed mineral exploration of rare earth elements.
