One of the biggest issues we face as a rural region is accessibility to resources. Sometimes, even finding out about a resource is a heavy lift. Often the burden of finding and accessing a resource is placed on already under-resourced business owners. The issue is not the amount of resources available; we know that if a resource is not easily accessible, it’s of no use to the entrepreneur. Here are some steps we can take as an ecosystem to make local resources for entrepreneurs more accessible: 💡 Showcase resources for each stage of life (recent graduates, 2nd career seekers, seasoned entrepreneurs, etc.) and ensure there are multiple points to access them (for example by working with partner organizations) 💡 Revisiting models of mentorship available to entrepreneurs in the Valley. We want to create a greater sense of belonging in the business community 💡 Make more warm introductions and ensure follow-through 💡 Meet people where they are instead of expecting them to already know what to ask for Dive deeper into this discussion, spurred from our last Regional Coalition meeting, on our blog! We'd love to hear your thoughts on creating better access to resources! https://hubs.li/Q02x6m8X0 #EcosystemBuilding #EntrepreneurSupport #SmallBusinessResources

By combining our areas of expertise, our group managed to aid the Bachelor of Science students to achieve their goal. By looking at the project with a combined holistic view, we were able to advise them on a few key areas of their business that needed some development. Working with students of different majors has allowed me to realise two things: 1. How much I know about my chosen area - entrepreneurship 2. The benefit of looking at the same problem through different lenses #MqBComCapstone Matteo Fragasso - Feng-Emily Lizzio - Luu Hannah - Tristan Sutcliffe - Thao Tran

Understanding and Improving your Entrepreneurship Program, Part 1 📗 Here are some guiding questions you can use to benchmark your existing accelerator, incubator or program: • What specific objectives did you set out to achieve with your program? • How do these objectives support the wider economic development strategy of your community or region? • Are you tracking the right metrics for success, beyond conventional metrics, such as GDP, for growth?
