OpenAI claims to have found evidence that China's AI startup, DeepSeek, utilised distillation techniques involving OpenAI's models to train their own AI systems. This development underscores the complexities of AI model development and the importance of safeguarding proprietary technologies. The use of distillation, a method where a smaller model is trained to replicate the behavior of a larger one, raises questions about intellectual property and the ethical boundaries in AI research. As the AI landscape evolves, it's crucial for organisations to implement robust measures to protect their innovations and ensure ethical practices are upheld. This situation highlights the need for clear guidelines and policies to navigate the fine line between inspiration and infringement in AI development. What's your thought! #AI #OpenAI #DeepSeek #AIEthics #IntellectualProperty #TechNews https://lnkd.in/dC3KHPRC

How turn tables. When are we going to have a conversation about the fact that the current AI models are trained on stolen content that the creators have not been compensated for? Current AI models are neither ethical nor responsible, and will not become so until the writers, artists and other creators are compensated. We are all responsible for calling out this behavior, and forcing the companies to act better. Come on, people. We are better than this. #AI #ChatGPT #DeepSeek
