Do you really know who is calling you? Not only can caller ID be faked, but with sophisticated AI tools, even voices can be replicated to sound like someone you know. Remember, whether it’s sending money or divulging personal information, if there’s a sense of urgency to take action it’s probably a scam.

TechTalk - No 1 I recently learned about an AI tool called "Perplexity" and wanted to share it with you. It could be a valuable addition to your research or learning efforts. Many of you may have already heard of it, but for those who haven't, this could be a great addition to use alongside tools like ChatGPT and Gemini. #ai #LinkedIn #Microsoft #cfmr

Beware of AI Voice Spoofing Scams Targeting Loved Ones In recent times, there's been a disturbing increase in AI voice spoofing scams. These scams exploit technology to mimic the voices of loved ones, creating convincing messages that often incite panic and urgency. All the fraudsters need is a snippet of your voicemail or any publicly available recording of your voice to craft a believable imitation. These scams prey on our emotions, using tactics that demand immediate action, which can lead to hasty decisions and financial loss. It’s a sophisticated form of social engineering that can catch even the most vigilant among us off guard. To protect yourself and your family, consider establishing a family safe word or phrase. This simple precaution can act as a powerful defense, ensuring that even in moments of high stress, you have a reliable way to verify the authenticity of the call. Stay vigilant and spread the word about these scams to help protect others. https://lnkd.in/g8cf4diN

What I am Learning today Numerous ai Imagine a mashup of AI and a spreadsheet. An analysis of online reviews is the first example that comes to mind. The power of spreadsheets lives in the available functions like =Sum() and =Avg(). Imagine if you had =AI() and could tap into AI Here are some examples: Prompting ChatGPT in batch: anything that ChatGPT is good at doing once, Numerous is good at doing 1000 times, based on 1000 different cells' contents. Writing things in batch: write taglines for all of your products based on their descriptions, responses to messages in specific ways and formats, SEO keywords based on titles, etc. Categorizing items: group reviews or survey responses based on what they're about, companies based on their industries, purchase receipts by expenditure type, names by gender, etc. Extracting part of a text: pull out the street name from an address, the item name from a review, the merchant name from a receipt, and so on. I don't use AI, I use AI tools. I adapt technology to meet the human need. I work on research with my AI Assistant, Claude, I've replaced Google search with Perplexity ai and will be working with Numerous to conduct marketing analysis this month. If you are working with it, I'd love to hear what you like best. If not, check it out...

Why did the Post Office Scandal happen at all? In my opinion, it is because we are more prepared to accept that a human could commit a crime than a machine to make a mistake. This, of course, has huge implications for the AI driven world that we are about to enter. How do we know that the big data that AI uses will create fair and impartial results and not ones swayed by biases. Unfortuneately the only answer to us to become more cynical and not just to blindly the accept the machine created `truths`- we have our own pretty good system to combat that called `common sense (which in a way is created by our own internal algortithms)- which if the relevant people had applied appropriately at the time might have asked whether it was likely that over 700 subpostmasters would all simulataneously have become involved in criminal actions!
