The client's best interest should always be the top priority. Banks have simply forgotten that! There is an alternative for Canadians; a strong group on individuals who thrive to do the best for their clients and care for them. It doesn't have to be me, but find an advisor that you have a connection with and that you trust. The more we deal with advisors as opposed to banks, the more we keep the affordability and availability of sound financial advice in this country.

Don't say I didn't warn you Remember yesterday, when I told you theres about 10 companies you absolutely dont want to work with as an employee or client Well here is 5 It is extremely amusing when the employees defend themselves, "well it's not me" Then what are you still doing working there? To me, this is no different than being friends with a gang of thieves and saying "well they are nice guys, and I am not robbing anyone personally" This is called guilty by association I will continue to be a thorn in the side of publicly traded companies. Many of their employees are great people, being destroyed by manipulative sales tactics I don't hate the player, I hate the game If you work for any of these banks, please reach out, we are here to educate and offer support If you are a client of any of these banks, reach out, we will show you how much better you can do for yourself, and for your family MCO Private Wealth Screwing ourselves out of sales through honesty That's the only way it should be If you work at an institution and have a story to tell, you can tell me in private. I'll spill the beans, with no mentioning of personal names. I am not afraid I can't lose my job #CFP #honesty #integrity

Integrity and conscience should work hand in hand. As an advisor you have choices of who you want to work with and what you and the brand you represent stand for. There are too many advisors out there that I'm sure feel stuck after realizing that the company that they joined isn't what they had envisioned when they signed on to work with them. True integrity is shown by doing the right thing even when it isn't easy. I made this choice early in my career and now my clients and I are so much happier for it. To any advisors out there that are feeling stuck or worried about making a change, please reach out and lets have a chat. The only regret you will feel is that you didn't have the courage to do this sooner. Here for you. #MCOWealthInspiringIntegritythroughAction

Former bank executive with 35 years of experience | Options trading expert who has taught 730+ students | Join my Masterclass to learn the strategy I used to create a 6-figure income stream
“You’re just a bank teller,” people used to tell me. “Just cash the checks and hurry up.” When I started my career 35 years ago, I was a bank teller. And I was proud of being a bank teller. But people loved to add another world to my title: “𝗝𝘂𝘀𝘁 a bank teller.” They reminded me of a few things (often): - The lenders call the shots around here. - You’re not here to make a difference. - Just process the deposits. By the time I retired decades later, I had: - Become an executive for multiple banks. - Led strategy for over $10 billion in deposits. - Helped other tellers reach their true potential. No one is ever going to value what you bring to the table quite like you will. But the one thing you can always change is the people you surround yourself with. So find a supportive environment and watch the growth occur. If you’re not being supported, find a place that will support you. If you’re in a position to support, make sure you do so. I’m grateful that I was overlooked as it motivated me to prove people wrong. No one is ever “just a teller”. No one is ever “just” anything. Everyone can do amazing things. You just need to surround yourself with the right people. 𝗣.𝗦. 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗷𝗼𝗯? -- Repost this to help others ❤️

Empowering Immigrants In Canada to Gain Career Clarity & Boost Confidence | Speaker Ft. National TV Top Stories: CBC, Global, CNBC, FOX 26 + 100 News | Certified Career Strategist ⤵️ Free 6-Figs Career Clarity Class
As someone who has dedicated their career to the banking industry, I feel compelled to shed light on the harsh realities many of us face, particularly in customer service/sales roles. Picture this: a world where aggressive targets reign supreme, where failure to meet these targets lands you on a Performance Improvement Plan (PIP), where queues never seem to end, and where machines are more often broken than not. This is the daily grind for countless individuals in banks across the globe, and it's not pretty. Having worked in various banks, I've witnessed firsthand the toll it takes on employees. Staff shortages, back-to-back queues, yelling customers, and insufficient training make for an environment that's more akin to a pressure cooker than a place of financial assistance. In remote areas, the situation is worse. With fewer resources and less support, the challenges become even more daunting. Yet, the expectations remain sky-high, leaving little room for compassion or understanding. One of the most disheartening aspects is the lack of education provided to newcomers to Canada who aspire to work in banking. They enter the field with starry-eyed optimism, unaware of the cutthroat nature of customer service roles. It's a world of limited training, aggressive sales targets, sleepless nights, and the constant threat of termination if quotas aren't met. But why is the turnover rate so high in these top banks? The answer lies in the toxic culture that prioritizes profit over people. The relentless pressure to sell products to those who can least afford them – these are the realities we face every day. I've had my own share of regrets working with top employers. This is when I quit by email after they placed me on a PIP during training for asking too many questions and not grasping their horrible onboarding/training process. It's time for a change. It's time for leaders to take responsibility for the toxic environments they've created. It's time for customers to demand better treatment, not just for themselves but for the frontline staff who serve them tirelessly. So, next time you find yourself frustrated with a sales pitch, long wait or a broken machine, remember that it's not the fault of the entry-level associate. It's the result of leadership decisions that prioritize profit over people. I may have left the banking world behind, but the lessons I've learned will stay with me forever. And as I move forward, I'm committed to advocating for those who still find themselves trapped in the cycle of aggressive sales tactics and unattainable targets with PIP threat. Thoughts on putting people on PIP? share below Teachndo https://lnkd.in/gJxsh8_T

Helping you find confidence and peace of mind about your finances through retirement, financial, and investment planning.
“You’re just another banker.” A prospective client once said this to me in an early conversation. "I don’t see how you’re any different—you’re just another banker." Here’s how I responded: 1. I listened to their concerns. - Instead of acting on my first instinct to defend myself, I tried to understand where they were coming from. (Checking my ego has been one of my 2024 goals) 2. I explained the difference in roles. - I shared that while many financial professionals work in banks, not all of us do the same job. Some work directly for the bank, and others, like me, run independent practices through companies like Scotia Wealth Management. Both roles are important, but they are different. 3. I talked about the difference in service. - I explained that I work with a smaller group of clients so I can give more personalized advice and attention. I also have specialized education and experience. This is different from the kind of service you might get in a retail bank, where the focus is on helping more people. At the end of the day, it’s not just about where you work—it’s about the relationships you build and the care you put into helping people reach their goals. What’s something about what you do that’s commonly misunderstood? P.s. This picture was taken on my last day of working as a branch advisor.
