For our #PeopleBehindThePower this week, we're featuring Natalie! Natalie has been with FirstEnergy for 24 years and is currently a Manager on our Operations Support team. One of Natalie's favorite parts of her job is the team she works with. "I lead a small but mighty team of amazing, passionate people who support the success of our line and substation operations groups across the entire footprint. My dad was an electrical engineer and his job fascinated me. Engineering wasn’t my path, but I love that I get to work with our field teams every day and help them safely and efficiently keep the lights on for our customers." Aside from her work, Natalie is also involved in animal rescue, gardening, historical building renovations, pollinator preservation and photography!

Signs are required on construction projects to warn workers of a hazard. Those "DANGER" signs need to meet certain criteria including sufficient in # and location on the project. A reminder that when planning and organizing a project reversing should not occur, and if so, as little as possible. #prevention #construction #project #struckby #hazard #danger #reversing #planning #sign

This is a little different post, but this concerned me... A few weeks ago my wife told me there was a young hawk in the front yard acting strange. It was on a low tree limb, not moving. When I got home, it was gone. A few hours later I found it dead at the base of a tree. The next day, I found another one in the front of the house near the front door. The next day i found another near the mailbox. I had never seen anything like that. I did some research and here is what I came up with. #propertymanagement #chiefengineer #hvac #cre #propertymanager #cranes #wildlife #wildlifeconservation

It’s National Bat Appreciation Day!!! 🦇 These little creatures may have a bit of a bad rep, but they play a critical role in maintaining a balanced ecosystem by controlling insect populations. M Squared Engineering is excited to have a few staff members who are experienced Bridge Bat Assessors in compliance with the US Fish and Wildlife requirements and state requirements to assist in protecting the Northern Long-eared bat, which is just one bat species on the US endangered list. Bats like to habitat in dark-covered places like bridges and culverts, which are often a part of civil engineering transportation projects. DOT’s in coordination with state and federal environmental have set guidelines that require inspections prior to construction to protect bat habitats. So, as Bridge Bat assessors we look for key components that make up a bat's life. We search areas in the structures where bats would be protected from the elements/areas where they can spawn (so cracks/crevices/holes) for any evidence of their presence. Also, we look for spider webs in these cracks/holes since bats wouldn't be there if there were any. Our inspections contribute to their well-being and help preserve biodiversity. 🦇🌿

Continuing National Work Zone Awareness week, it's time to talk about site conditions. Keep things clear, if an elevated platform is higher than 4 feet, make sure there's a handrail and toe board. If it's night - get a light, proper lighting is key. . . . #safetytip #workzoneawarenessweek #construction #deepfoundation #pile #project #job #build #morrisshea #building #foundation #newjobs #constructionjobs #MorrisShea #fleet #drillrigs
