𝐅𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐬 𝐃𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐃𝐞𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐇𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐨𝐬𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡 𝐒𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐈𝐧𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐌𝐮𝐬𝐥𝐢𝐦 𝐏𝐨𝐩𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: The global Muslim population is projected to exceed 2.2 billion by 2030, leading to a proportional rise in demand for halal products, including cosmetics and supplements. This demographic shift is particularly evident in regions with substantial Muslim populations, such as Southeast Asia. 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐜𝐢𝐨𝐮𝐬𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬: There is a growing awareness among consumers about health and wellness, prompting many to seek out halal-certified products that are perceived as healthier and more ethically produced. Halal supplements are increasingly favored for their quality assurance and transparency in manufacturing processes. 𝐑𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐈𝐧𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞: Economic development in Muslim-majority countries has resulted in higher disposable incomes, allowing consumers to invest in premium halal products. This trend is evident in both cosmetics and health supplements, where consumers are willing to pay a premium for quality and ethical standards. 𝐈𝐧𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐲: Halal cosmetics are often associated with ingredient transparency and cruelty-free practices, appealing not only to Muslim consumers but also to non-Muslims who prioritize ethical consumption. This broad appeal is contributing to the market's expansion as brands respond to consumer demands for clarity regarding product ingredients. #TMHSProductRegistration #CosmeticNotification #HalalCertification

Eh! saya nak share jugaklah.. 1. Once the company decides to apply for #halal certification, whether by choice or necessity, they need to prepare themselves and commit to implementing halal practices in their operations. 2. This means they need to make themselves ready to comply with the rules and regulations set by the relevant authorities such as #jakim or jain. 3. My humble suggestion is that #halalexecutives or consultants should always remind and continue to foster understanding of the importance of halal and their role to the management. 4. It's important to remember that the #halalsystem is not only implemented to secure our halal certificates but also to protect the rights of our consumers when they consume your halal product. Challenges to overcome: 1. Halal executives/consultants need to creatively think of the ways to effectively instill understanding and a sense of responsibility for halal within the organization. 2. Organizations need to always be prepared to commit and increase their efforts to search for #competent halal executives who can 'helps' them build, implement, and maintain a good halal system in their company. (They can seek 'advice' from consultants if needed).

In today’s Client Update, Partner Albert Boy Situmorang and Associate Tsurayya Nurrahma discuss the implementation of Indonesia’s mandatory halal certification for the food and beverage sector, which takes effect today, 17 October 2024. Businesses must ensure that all F&B products sold in Indonesia are halal-certified by the Halal Product Assurance Administering Agency (Badan Penyelenggara Jaminan Produk Halal or “BPJPH”), with strict labelling requirements for non-halal items. The update also highlights the enforcement measures being taken by the BPJPH and the importance of immediate compliance to avoid sanctions such as fines and product recalls. Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr. Ahmad Zahid Hamidi announced the establishment of a task force to coordinate the development of Halal Industrial Parks and address challenges faced by state governments. As Chairman of the Halal Industry Development Council, he noted that only 11 percent of the 13,000 acres allocated for these parks has been developed since 2009. The task force, chaired by Ahmad Zahid, will collaborate with state governments to identify and resolve issues, including a lack of incentives and inadequate infrastructure, to support the halal industry's growth.
