Buildings are responsible for 40% of energy and process-related carbon emissions, 36% of energy consumption, 33% of water consumption, and 35% of generated waste, yet the world is still struggling to decarbonize and achieve their net zero goals. #AI/#ML technologies have thus undoubtedly been the most critical trend this year in the built environment sector. Furthermore, #GenerativeAI has added a new dimension in getting faster time to market with products and solutions. To decrease energy consumption and improve overall sustainability, building owners (such as data centers, hospitals, and airports) are increasingly using AI-driven insights to inform more accurate and meaningful decision-making. A Forrester Consulting study for Johnson Controls reveals that 37% of respondents use AI/ML to analyze their buildings’ operational data to develop recommendations on energy, emissions, water, and waste.
