About a year ago, my long-time friend Jim Childs asked me to help evaluate a potential investment in a young staffing business. When I first heard the details, growth rate, and other metrics, I thought it was too good to be true. But I trusted Jim, and he asked, so I flew to New Orleans to meet Gavin Baker and Chase Chiasson, the founders of a CRNA-focused staffing business. Their unbelievable success was even more impressive than first advertised. Gavin and Chase are CRNAs, so their view of the world differs significantly from that of the traditional staffing firm owner. This perspective is good for customers and, therefore, great for everyone involved. They help CRNAs and healthcare facilities nationwide become more efficient and effective and do it with unmatched care.  When you seek to invest in a service-based business, it's always the people that matter most. ALWAYS! After a few months of working with Gavin and Chase, it became abundantly clear that these two were full of grit, humility, and smarts. Most importantly, they are good, high-integrity humans.  To pile on, this company has a unique recruiting advantage. Nowadays, everyone promises that. Just noise, right? Not this one. If it were only noise, I wouldn't be involved.  A few months ago, it became official; Jim and I were fortunate enough to become investors. Happy day! We now sit on the board, helping guide these rocket ship captains. My good friend and tech genius, Mujtaba B., also invested, making the future even brighter.   Rejoining with Jeffrey Schroeder and other former colleagues has been fun and fulfilling. We are quickly assembling the best talent in the industry and expect the growth G-forces to multiply.  I've been biting my tongue, wanting to share this news while waiting for the rebrand to finish—special thanks to ClearEdge for their work on the brand changes.  Krewe Anesthesia is as unique as its name suggests.
