Thank you to everyone who joined me last Wednesday for my presentation on "From Data to Decisions - How NIMA makes a difference in the Integrity Framework for Cracks" We managed to cover a fair bit of our standard process, starting with a brief introduction to the Level 1 Framework for Cracks, through the different ILI stages where we provide Integrity Support. Some of the main points we covered were: • How data from clients or historical ILIs is displayed within NIMA with the aim to quickly and easily review the data and identify general populations of interest • How we perform a Threat Assessment to identify what and where the main cracking threats are • How we perform an EMAT Data Quality Assessment with the aim to identify if we have achieved good coverage and have reached POD at the very least in the areas of concern • How we provide support throughout the Preliminary and Final anomaly reporting stages and how we decide what features we should recommend for in-field validation • Lastly, how to use NIMA to perform non-standard checks, such as plotting EMAT reported coating condition and CP data aligned with previously reported external corrosion and bending strain, etc. I hope everyone managed to take an idea or two with them on how NIMA could be utilised to enhance your day-to-day work. We have been a bit quiet on social media recently, for good reason. We've been taking a good look at ourselves, focusing on making improvements across our business, and putting processes in place to ensure we continue to improve. We are a values-based, family company and take great pride in our commitment to best practice. Sadly, last year we were found lacking in some of the high standards we set. We have been actively working to improve our procedures and have doubled down on our beliefs during the intervening time to now. First, the actions of a few people do not represent the excellent work that the rest of our people do. We have always wanted to set the gold standard for the industry. Second, that doesn’t mean that we can’t keep on improving. We realised we had work to do, and we continue to do that work. Third, we care about our business, employees, suppliers and customers more than ever. And a huge thank you to everyone who has supported us through the past few weeks. Our employees have been working really hard too. They have passed a highly commended, approved external course and undertaken new and enhanced internal training. We are conducting spot checks personally at regular intervals, our quality control is better than it ever has been, and we have been actively working with the wider industry to share our experiences and help others improve their own processes. A.D. Harvey was founded on the belief that you always think about quality and relationships first. We’ve never been a business about making a quick buck. It will always stay that way.
