New Zealand - A vineyard to vie with nature: Far away, alone at the end of the world, an archipelago lies between the Tasman Sea and the Pacific Ocean: New Zealand. For 40 years, on the South Island, in the major wine-growing region of Marlborough, new pioneers have pulled off the daring gamble of growing vines. With nearly 17,000 hectares it is the largest wine-growing region in the country. Making wine in New Zealand means taking on a nature that is untamed and one that humans find hard to rival. And yet they succeed despite the problems of climate, the earthquakes and the ever-invading wild life.

We do Shortsea solutions. Thinking of the environment, why not change road traffic to shortsea traffic?
A windy and busy afternoon at the Port of Moss, Norway. We had the departure of one ship, bound for the Baltics, while another one of our ships arrived at the port to unload and load before going to Rotterdam. As the windsurfers and kiters enjoyed the beautiful summer day on the water, we shared the sea—a dynamic blend of commerce and leisure.

It's the start of Seafood Week in Whatcom County! From Sept. 23-30, we’re celebrating our incredible maritime culture and the importance of local, sustainable fishing practices. We’d like to shout-out the vendors at Dockside Market. By choosing local seafood, you’re supporting our community and helping to protect our vital water resources for future generations. Visit the Dockside Market on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of each month to further support sustainable fishing. A big thank you to all our dedicated vendors! Don’t forget to say hi to our Port employees for Day on the Bay September 28th! We’ll be at the Bellingham Shipping Terminal where you can tour our facilities, learn about exciting Port projects, and meet longshoremen and community members creating a better Port of Bellingham.

When will the first ship of 2024 arrive at the Port of Green Bay? The “First Ship Contest” - an annual custom over the last 2 decades - is now a joint venture with Discover Green Bay. Individuals are encouraged to guess when the first cargo ship of the season will sail under the Tower Drive Bridge (Leo Frigo Bridge) for the chance to win prizes. The shipping industry is significant for the Greater Green Bay region: during the 2023 shipping season, 1,782,887 metric tons were moved in and out of the Port. https://ow.ly/xSei50QLAgL

I enjoy and find useful a lot of different types of post on LinkedIN... I really enjoy the content Alexis Bertholf ✨ posts... it is fresh and different and heck, who hasn't had to try and explain their job to their parents, spouses, kids, etc. It is something we all have in common... And -- there is a good business and personal lesson in this exercise as well. Honing explanations or descriptions of difficult or complex topics is an important skill... You never know when you might have to use that elevator speech to describe your company, or your solution, or what you do! Alexis' family did a great job! My favorite was "you connect cords and explain stuff". 😁 Great work bringing different and valuable content to this sometimes buttoned down platform!
I asked my family to explain what I do for work - Here's how it went: Every year as long as I can remember, we take a trip up to my grandma's cabin on Seneca Lake. Especially now that we're all older and live in different places, it's so special to come back and visit. Lake week is my favorite week 🥹🫶🏼 P.S. Who do you think had the most correct answer??
