La Nicomekl Enhancement Society de Langley, en Colombie-Britannique, fait des progrès importants dans la modernisation de l’infrastructure de son écloserie communautaire. Dans le cadre de l’Initiative de la Stratégie relative au saumon du Pacifique, nous avons récemment soutenu d’importantes améliorations, notamment l’installation d’un nouveau système de recirculation de l’eau utilisée pour l’incubation qui utilisera moins d’eau, ce qui en fera une option plus résiliente aux changements climatiques. Cette amélioration du site permettra à la société de se concentrer davantage sur la conservation et le rétablissement des stocks de saumons prioritaires, tout en renforçant la gestion de la santé des poissons. The Nicomekl Enhancement Society in Langley, BC, is making significant strides in modernizing its community hatchery infrastructure. Through the Pacific Salmon Strategy Initiative, we’ve recently supported important upgrades, including the installation of a new incubation recirculating system which will use less water, making it a more climate resilient option. This site improvement will enhance the society's ability to increase focus on conservation and rebuilding of priority salmon stocks while boosting fish health management.
