Lately, things have been a bit slow on my Ph.D. research, but this news just ignited my spark again, and I wanted to share it here and save it as a reminder. The news: My first published paper on "Generation of Photon Orbital Angular Momentum and Its Application in Space Division Multiplexing" has reached a remarkable milestone — it has been viewed over 1500 times! 🌟 💃 You can check it out here: https://lnkd.in/ddEaEDDe For me, this achievement isn't just a recognition of my hard work; it's an invitation and an inspiration to delve deeper into the world of photonics and contribute even more to this fascinating field. This milestone also reaffirms that every effort, sacrifice, and decision to carry on, even as a self-sponsored Ph.D. student with a family of four and living abroad, has been worth it. 💪 I'm already buzzing with excitement about my next paper and can't wait to share more discoveries with the world! 😁 To my fellow Ph.D. researchers: Keep pushing boundaries and exploring new frontiers. You are seen! 🤗 🤗 #ResearchMilestone #Photonics #AcademicAchievement #PhDJourney #Motivation #ScienceCommunity #KeepPushingBoundaries

Tom G. Saunderson Johannes Gutenberg Universität Mainz - Institute of Physics #EarlyCareerResearcherProject Superconducting chiraltronics: Whilst Moor’s law is breaking down in conventional computers, the quest to drive technological and computational innovation continues. Inventive solutions are required to find more compact processors, quantum or classical, which can also be computationally efficient to combat the effects of climate change. In my fellowship I will focus on the search to find new exotic topological order that exists at the interface between chiral textures and superconductors in the presence of spin orbit coupling to narrow the gap between our current capabilities and the demands of this age. #TopDyn #jgumainz #GutenbergCampus #UniMainz #GutenbergAlumni #contentmarketing #networking #socialmediamarketing #marketing #marketingdigital #promo #socialmedia #digitalmarketing #onlinemarketing #contentmarketing #marketingtips #marketingstrategy #success #Mainz #JGUMainz #community #science #physics #Physik #school #university #phd #doctorate #cosmology #students

Another long-term scientific visit to the Friedrich-Schiller-University (FSU) successfully realized 🔬 ⚙ IPB Ph.D. student, Filip Krajinic, from the Institute of Physics Belgrade (IPB) and BioQantSense project team member, was on a long-term scientific visit to the Friedrich Schiller University Jena (FSU), Jena from the 9th of September to the 24th of September. FSU attendees were Josué Ricardo León Torres and Mohit Kumar (MOHIT KUMAR). Primary expected outcome of this scientific visit was to work on the setup for #quantum #imaging with undetected photons in mid-infrared spectrum for imaging biological samples. #twinning #HorizonEU #EUfunds #photonics #physics #science #research #innovations #OpenScience #optics #undetectedphotons #midinfrared #quantumimaging #knowledgetransfer Funded by the European Union. I just stumbled upon the incredible work of the 2023 Nobel Prize winners in Physics. and have to say it's really a ground breaking innovation. following are the 2023 Nobel laureatesin physics: 🏆Pierre Agostini (France) 🏆Ferenc Krausz (Hungary) 🏆Anne L'Huillier (France) These brilliant minds achieved the seemingly impossible: capturing the fleeting movements of electrons within atoms with light! Imagine a movie of these microscopic dancers - that's essentially what they've done! They figured out how to generate attosecond light pulses, which are so short they can freeze the ultrafast dance of electrons within atoms and molecules. Think of it like capturing a single frame of lightning! ⚡️ Why is this such a big deal? Well, understanding these fleeting motions is crucial for unlocking secrets in chemistry, biology, and even material science. It's like having a superpowered microscope for the nanoscale world! source:https://lnkd.in/dwWzXiAY Even though the award was announced months ago, I'm still deeply impressed! This discovery has the potential to revolutionize countless fields, and I'm excited to see what the future holds.. #attosecond #physics #scientist #nobelprize #nobelprize2023 #nobellaureate #innovation #

Read the exclusive interview with Anne L'Huillier, Nobel Prize in Physics 2023, in the latest issue of 'Photoniques' ❗ #freeaccess Professor of atomic physics and light-matter interactions, Anne L'Huillier, was awarded The Nobel Prize in Physics 2023 "for experimental methods that generate attosecond pulses of light for the study of electron dynamics in matter." - How do you feel about becoming the fifth woman to receive the Nobel Prize in Physics and the second French woman after Marie Curie? - Since the announcement of this Nobel Prize, I have been very busy. Becoming a Nobel prize laureate implies taking on a new task and responsibility, consisting in communicating science, especially to the young generation. I am aware of the additional role I have to play as the fifth woman to be awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics. I believe it is very important to have role models. The fact that Marie Curie existed was a major factor for me. While it took 60 years to have a second female Nobel Prize laureate with Maria Goeppert-Mayer, and 55 more years to the next one, three women have been awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics in the past five years. I think there will be more and more female Nobel Prizes, and this should give hope to young female scientists. A scientist at Heriot-Watt University is to receive more than £2million funding from the European Research Council (ERC) to fill in the blind spots of Nobel Prize-winning technology. ✨ Dr Christian Brahms, an assistant professor and Royal Academy of Engineering Research Fellow at Heriot-Watt University’s School of Engineering and Physical Sciences, will spend the next five years building a new type of light source for extremely fast #laser pulses. The aim is to capture nature’s fastest processes as they happen, at the rate of an #attosecond - or a quintillionth of a second. This could allow us to see some of the fastest processes in nature, like how plants absorb sunlight. The Heriot-Watt project will build on the work of Pierre Agostini, Ferenc Krausz and Anne L'Huillier, who won the Nobel Prize for Physics in 2023, and address a key shortcoming of their attosecond technology: it can’t see everything.
