Happy #internationalwomensday! Today, we celebrate the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women around the world. In the IT development sector, we recognize the valuable contributions that women have made and continue to make in driving innovation and growth. Despite the progress made in recent years, there is still a gender gap in the tech industry. Women are underrepresented in the workforce, particularly in technical roles. It is important that we work towards creating a more inclusive and diverse workplace, where everyone has an equal opportunity to succeed. At #Devoxx4Kids, we are committed to supporting and empowering women in tech at earlier ages. We organize IT tech workshops where girls (and boys) can explore various aspects of the IT world (electronics, software, cyber security, etc) in a very fun way. On this International Women’s Day, let us pledge to continue supporting and empowering women in tech. Together, we can build a better future for all.

On International Women's Day, let's discuss a force bridging gaps and breaking barriers: Women in Tech and Women in Cyber groups. It's the same old story: The tech world is a male-dominated sphere, that's just facts. But there's a powerful shift underway. Women in tech and cyber groups are not just speaking up—they're leading the charge in closing the gender gap within tech, and cybersecurity specifically. Consider the stats: only about 25% of cybersecurity professionals are women (give or take). Yet, these groups are proving to be game-changers. They provide mentorships, networking opportunities, and support systems that promote diversity and inclusion. By uniting voices, they're amplifying the impact women can make in this field. These groups inspire and pave the way for aspiring female tech enthusiasts to envision a possible and welcoming future in cyber roles. I, myself, am just truly starting to get involved, and I'm already seeing and felling the impact of Women across the country wanting to connect and support each other! Women in Tech and Cyber groups are more than networks - they are the catalysts for a balanced future in one of the most critical sectors of our time. Let's keep this conversation going. What are your insights or experiences with women-focused tech groups? I'd love to hear your thoughts! #womenincyber #internationalwomensday2024 #closethegap #sheleadstech #wicys

Here are a few sobering statistics that highlight the gender disparity in tech: 📊 According to recent studies, women make up only 27% of the tech workforce, with even fewer holding leadership positions. 📉 The percentage of women pursuing STEM subjects in higher education is on the decline, and women achieve just 18% of new computer science degrees—leading to a lack of diverse perspectives in tech innovation. ⚖️ Gender bias and discrimination continue to be significant challenges for women in tech, affecting everything from hiring and promotions to workplace culture and opportunities for advancement. We understand that our field has traditionally been male-dominated, but we believe it's crucial to acknowledge the invaluable contributions of women in shaping the future of technology. CloudGuard actively wants to be a force for change and embrace greater women in Cyber and in leadership roles. We are proud but not happy our workforce is 34% women. We can and need to do more every day. If you want to know more about a career in cyber or where to even start, our door is always open! #InternationalWomensDay

It's not all bad news for women in tech, you know (what little there are of us, that is). Compared to women in other sectors, those in tech are 18% more likely to advocate for promotions. And women are 1% more likely to pursue promotions than their male colleagues. This significantly contrasts the global average across all industries, where women are 9% less likely to ask for promotions than men! While tech boasts higher promotion-seeking behavior among women, it also reveals an area for improvement. Women in tech report higher job satisfaction (66%) than men (63%). However, they are also 6% more likely than the global average to plan on leaving their current employer within a year. Although there's more work to be done, it is nice to read some positive tech diversity news for a change! https://pwc.to/3PDAbW0 #Diversity #GenderGap #Tech #Cybersecurity
