Title: Finding My Path: From Uncertainty to Passion I was an average student with no dreams to grab onto, floating through life without direction. One day, I found inspiration in the world of Computer Science, and it sparked a desire to pursue a B.Tech in CSE at a tier-3 college. Reality hit hard when I realized that the four years of my college degree barely aligned with the demands of today's job market. The curriculum seemed disconnected from real-world applications. Nevertheless, I accepted this reality and tried to follow the roadmaps suggested by friends and industry trends. To be honest, the journey was exhausting. I didn't fit into the suggested roadmap and felt completely lost. Then, in my final year, I stumbled upon cybersecurity as a career option. It was a revelation—I fell in love with the field. Unfortunately, it felt like I had wasted three crucial years discovering this passion. I immersed myself in numerous unpaid internships, hoping to gain practical experience. Yet, these opportunities often led to dead ends. Many firms promised growth but delivered little, leaving me with knowledge that seemed inapplicable in real-world scenarios. Now, at 22, I find myself with no clear plan, no job, and still searching for a dream. My journey highlights the gaps in today's education system and the disheartening practices of some internship firms that exploit aspiring professionals. Despite all this, I never gave up. I am still pushing forward, determined to live my dream and carve out a successful path in cybersecurity. Every setback is a lesson, and I am more committed than ever to turning my passion into a reality. #EducationReform #InternshipReality #StudentStruggles #FutureOfWork #DreamBig #Cybersecurity #DigitalForensic #Ethical_Hacker #CyberSec

If you or someone you know is trying to break into tech, you might want to consider Apprenti. It’s an incredible program that Intermountain Health is a part of. Several people on the cybersecurity team started as apprentices and have worked their way up the ranks and were able to join the team full time after their apprenticeship was over. Every person who has come to IH through that program is so impressive and they continue to gain notice and accolades as they go on to get certifications and degrees. About Apprenti from their website: “Apprenti creates alternative pathways to access diverse tech talent and help organizations address digital skills shortages through the time-tested model of apprenticeship.” Link in the comments. If you or someone you know is interested in becoming an apprentice in the Cybersecurity department at Intermountain. PM me and I’ll connect you to the right people. #techjobs #cybersecurityjobs #utahjobs #apprenticeship #careerchange
