Today – and every day – we celebrate the women who fought for equality and paved the way for our future generations. “There is not one way to lead, but I do believe all good leaders do so with purpose, frequent reflection and a willingness to be hands on. Whether it’s in a professional capacity, within the community or among family and friend circles, I see strong leadership from women every day. On National Women’s Equality Day, I would like to celebrate the many women I know who lead with purpose, continually reflect and grow, and extend their hands to lift those around them.“ - Susan Holliday, Chair of the Boards of Financial Institutions Inc. and Five Star Bank From all of us at Five Star, Happy National Women’s Equality Day!

As we come to the close of National Women's History Month, I'd like to take a moment to celebrate the unique theme for 2024: Women Who Advocate for Equity, Diversity & Inclusion. This theme celebrates women across the nation who recognize the necessity of eradicating bias and discrimination from our lives and institutions for a better future. Women from diverse backgrounds have long understood that an unfair playing field cannot lead to equality or justice. Throughout 2024, let's pay tribute to local women, both historical and contemporary, who have boldly led the charge for change and established stronger protections, practices, and legislation aligned with these principles. Who are the women in your community or organization that you will honor?

Happy International Women's Day! This day belongs to everyone, everywhere. We're happy to join this annual celebration to Inspire Inclusion! The day marks a call to action for accelerating women's equality. This global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women inspires us to consider: - When women aren't present, we must ask: "If not, why not?" - When women are discriminated against, we must call out poor practice. - When the treatment of women is not equitable, we must take action. And we must do this each time, every time.

💖Women Are Powerful💖 When all women come together to advocate for equality, we become a strong force for change. Specifically, in our industry we need to speak up for the equality of all aging people, especially for those that cannot advocate for themselves! Together, we can create spaces where everyone has a voice and can thrive. Spaces that are free from bias and discrimination, where the strength of your ideas is the only thing that matters. Spaces where every woman, feels empowered to speak, to act, to lead. Let us empower each other and make sure every voice counts in the fight for equality in our daily life! Each one of us, through our actions and our words, in our positions of leadership can help to lift others up. 📢Together we can drive change! On this International Women's Day, let's celebrate our power as women. Let's celebrate the progress we've made, and let's commit to the work still to be done. I look forward to changing this industry for the better with you! 💪📢💖

Today, on International Women’s Day, we celebrate the incredible impact women have across business and beyond, acknowledging our unique perspectives, innovation, and the collaborative environments we foster. In the realm of sales and business leadership, however, the journey toward equality remains ongoing. It’s still too common to enter a room and see a limited representation of women, particularly minority women. This day serves as a reminder of the strides we’ve made and the gaps we must still close. So let’s honor the achievements of women, address these challenges head-on, and commit to creating an equitable environment where all women have the opportunity to lead and inspire. Here’s to empowering women in every sphere, today and every day.

Empowering Women, Building Connections: In April, we proudly hosted our ‘Planning for the Future: The Creation and Protection of Wealth for Women in Business’ event. Female founders, advisers, and investors came together to share insights, network, and inspire one another. This marked the third event in our series dedicated to creating a global network of women in leadership roles. For us, financial literacy within the female community is crucial to achieving gender equity across society. A heartfelt thank you to our exceptional panellists - Sarah Wigington, Nicola Thorpe, Tess Newman, and Chloe Stages ACSI - for their valuable contributions on exit strategies, wealth protection, and future planning. Happy International Women's Day to all the incredible women out there! Today, we celebrate not just the collective strides we've made towards equality and empowerment but also the individual journeys that have brought each of us to where we are today. From the boardroom to the classroom, from the arts to the sciences, our achievements are as diverse as they are significant. And today, I want to share a message that’s more personal than business… This is a photo of five generations of strong and resilient women from Mississippi. My great-grandmother was born in 1903 in Lincoln County, MS, my grandmother was born in Fair River in 1920 (the first of 10 surviving children), and my mother in Brookhaven, a Boomer. I was born in Jackson, and my daughter was born in New Orleans and grew up in Covington, Louisiana. And if you’re in the South with me, girl, we are in danger. In a country where we can seemingly be anything and do anything if we are willing to do the work, this is not true for everyone. It’s no longer true for women in many states. So, today, for International Women’s Day, I want to remind every woman reading this in the United States (and those abroad who can vote here) that each of us has a voice in the democratic process, and 2024 is the year to find your voice if you haven’t been paying attention. Voting is not just our right, it’s our responsibility. Voting honors the Suffragettes who fought for all of us and the generations of women to come. Voting is our power to shape a future that continues to uphold and advance our equal rights and stand up to those who would move us backward. Let's pledge to use this power well so that every vote we cast brings us closer to a world where equality for ALL isn't just a goal, but a reality. To all the women reading this, know that your voice matters, your vote counts, and your contributions are invaluable to our collective progress. Here's to celebrating how far we've come, recognizing how much further we have to go, and embracing the role each of us plays in creating a more equitable world. #InternationalWomensDay #Empowerment #Vote #Equality

March is Women's History Month! According to the National Women’s History Alliance, this month's theme is "Women Who Advocate for Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion." We would like to highlight Audre Lorde, a poet, warrior, feminist, mother, pioneer, lover, and survivor. Her poetry explored everything from racism, women's rights, lesbian relationships, and homophobia. Lorde called out the feminist movement for catering exclusively to white women. She argued that for feminism to be powerful, it needed to acknowledge the value of all women. Read more about Audre Lord and other women who advocated for equality here: https://lnkd.in/geKwPQwg
